I've already scarfed down a whole meal's worth of pepperoni/black olive/cheese cubes on a toothpick and washed 'em down with 3 glasses of some good merlot. What are you're pre-turkey faves? Toss in the smoked oysters on a cracker as well...yumm.
Yeah...I'm bored. Bring on the game. |

3 glasses in already? You'll be asleep by the time the game starts.
I'm all about the veggie platters, broccoli and baby carrots galore. |

Brie is always a favorite of mine before any holiday meal, or pretty much any meal i guess. In fact every time i go back home there always seems to be some around.
Creamed Herring would be another, but that's more for Christmas. Still good for Thanksgiving though. Can't go wrong with regular cheese, crackers and sausage either. Deviled eggs are good in theory, but the texture just isn't right for me. |

i don't believe creamed herring is made out of herring and sour cream. maybe some styles are but i think they use regular cream for most of them. Do you make it this way? that sounds interesting.

it's probably pretty similar. if i try to imagine herring merinated in sour cream it pretty much looks like what creamed herring looks like.

Always good!
My wife has been making these little smokies, wrapped in bacon, covered in brown sugar and baked for 45 minutes or so. THEY'RE AWESOME! But, I'd just as soon not eat anything all day so that I can bring on the turkey induced coma when the feast is complete! |
