Default Lighter dies...jake is dead.

This is my thowing down the bones and reading the tea leaves. I had a premonition that when my lighter died, so would Jake.

Expect Jake to be supplanted in the second half tommorow. The lighter told me so.

Are we talking a Texas quart, or a standard quart?

If that's how it goes down, I just hope that Cutler has been getting some reps with the starters. Otherwise, his debut is likely to go down the crapper.

The more and more i think about Cutler playing in his rookie year the more it scares me. He gets no reps with the first team. The pass protection hasn't exactly been great. He's the next franchise quarterback of this team. And the more i think about how great that will be the less i want to see him go in unprepared this season. Then again, it's not like he just came outta high school. He played college football for a long time and i'm sure he feels capable and confident... But oh man, would he tear apart the chiefs defense if he had just a little preparation... Trust Shanahan

The pass protection has been alright. Jake hasn't been sacked much and hasn't taken any huge shots. As long as Jay isn't a statue I think he'll be fine.

if mock believes the lighter is an indicator of jake's career - who's to say it's not going to happen?

If our QB's only last as long as your lighters I would put "Jay" in a safe and never use him.
