Default If Jay starts this season, we should be able to double our offensive production...

...right?

Since Shanahan will be able to use his whole playbook (Mort reported that) and Cutler's strong arm will allow for deep completions that Plummer missed, we should score about 35 pts a game, right?

Keeping with that mindset, if Cutler replaces Plummer in the next couple of weeks, there will only be about 4-5 weeks left in the season. With Shanahan's new and improved full playbook offense, once we reach the playoffs, our opponents will not have a good feel for what we are trying to run because they don't have enough tape of it. In this instance, Culter becomes our secret weapon that throws everybody for a curve.

How does Shanahan want to use Culter? Shotgun, deep routes with full protection? Bootlegs? Teams don't know because a new QB -- as is the case with Romo in Dallas -- changes the whole complexion of the offense. Since Dallas made the move to Tony, they are 3-1. Teams will eventually catch up to what they are doing, but since Shanahan is doing it late in the season, we can ride this momentum to the Super Bowl!! Think about it, fans here are not stupid, if we can go, let's say 7-4 with Plummer, we should be able to go 7-1 with Culter because he is superior!!!

Whoo!!!!! We might start racking up 40-50 pts a game with Cutler because nobody knows how to stop him yet. They don't know his weaknesses or his strengths!

Shanahan is a jeanuss!@@!@!

Pure speculation at this point and any retorts would be speculation and i just don't see cutler starting, remember who the coach is and is the season lost say like the cards or any other situaition that would warrent (putting in the rookie) some folks are willing to throw the season to the wind (right now) just to see a different QB in. Now iam not defending jake iam looking at it like mike would and play the smartest way based on the options he has little choice. But if cutler plays (fine) we know mike has given up on the season and if jake plays then that's fine too (because it makes no difference) at this point but it is the smarter choice to run plummer.

Just speaking hypothetically, though. This must have been the mastermind's plan all along...see how far he could ride Plummer into the year, switch him with Cutler at the end of the season and start racking up the points with this full playbook offense! You might even see some run and shoot in there! Four tight ends, one fullback and Cutler lined up as a WR!! Three running backs in the backfied!!! No huddle!! Whoooo!! Full playbook, baby!!

You can't stop us if you don't know what we are running!!! Tecmo bowl offense here we come!! It's Shanny's FULL PLAYBOOK!!! The last time he was able to do that, he set an NFL record for points in a season! You thought Peyton's offense was tight, PFFTT!! That's pop warneresque compared to Shanahan! It's gonna be crazzzaaayy!

I will disappointed with anything less than 35 pts in game with Cutler starting. Severely.

That is some funny s***. I think your right about WR though. Perhaps Te. He could play the Defensive line also seeing how he did the bench 28 times. But seriously its hilarious you took all this time to post that S***. As freak would say, LMFAO!!!

Gonzo's finally talking sense. I think we'll average a point a minute under Cutler and maintain a solid two to one TOP edge.

We'll probably finish the season without another turnover. Jay's certainly not going to throw any interceptions and I would imagine he'll recover any fumbles by our ball carriers.

Yes, we'll be sitting in the fabled catbird seat ladies and gentlemen. So you better get with it.

And he'll keep himself fit by regularly kicking Chuck Norris and Teddy Bruschi's asses. At halftime.

All I want to see is a QB who has a little accuracy and throw a decent ball from the pocket. I believe it's fairly obvious that Cutler has the talent to do that. Someone who the other team has to respect a little bit which they don't with plumber. We already know what we get with Jake and it's very sporadic play mostly crap play though (this year).

We should also play Cutler opposite Champ Bailey on defense. Then
we'd have two shutdown cornerbacks and each game would end 63-0
because no team can score on us if they can't pass on us, and the
rest of the defense could handle any rushes attempted.

Lets look at this way , if Jay does start , we will get our asses handed to us , there should be no doubt about that , these defenses will give Cutler reads he has never seen before , but next year Cutler should be ready for them , Cutler wont be the savior this year , unless we can get a Bus or a Crockett type of runner , we dont have that ......... so the question is , tank the rest of this year to prepare the QB of the future , or stay with Jake in hopes of a rebound season .................

What about putting Jay in on rotation at DE between the 20's? Offenses have never seen a quarterback at DE before. They won't know what hit them! That's gotta be worth at least 3 sacks a game.
