Default Are you more of an optimist or pessimist

I struggled all day with the game because if we were to lose I just don't like our chances in Narrow head. I am going to be cheering as loud as I can on Thrus., but the odds are not stacked in our favor. If we drop that could start a total melt down, Jay could be looking to start and our entire team could be in shambles. And what happened to the stingiest D in the league? We have given up so many points these last few games I am most definatly a pessimist! But I love the Broncos still the same

Sorry for the chicken-**** answer, but I am a realist. This team is what it is. They are 7 - 3 and have a reasonable shot at 11 - 5, and an okay playoff seed.

They have played some tough teams and the schedule gets easier as we tee-up the NFC West. I think things will be okay, but I don't expect a Super Bowl. However, I will be down right pissed if we miss the playoffs.

I want to see Jay Cutler play, but I view the move as high-risk. Once he gets on the field that's it. Sink or swim. Going back to Plummer will be a futile once the move is made. Cutler would have to come in and play at a pretty high-level pretty fast to make it work out.

And I agree that I will root for this team no matter what. I will root for Jake or Jay. I will root for the offense and defense. I will root for them next season even if they don't win another game this season.

How about in training camp if Cutler comes in and struggles badly? How would you feel if this team makes the move and we miss the playoffs?

Those are the questions we need to be asking. Its easy to make the move when you think about the upside. But are we, collectively as a fan base, prepared for what might happen if it backfires?

Schlereth, Peter King, and Sandy Clough can talk all the crap they want. They are not fans. They get paid to talk about the team. Nothing better than a QB-controversy to talk about, write about, and have an opinoin about. But those guys simply don't care if the team wins or loses. In fact, it may be better for them if we lose so they can sit back and throw stones. Hey if Cutler is a bust then they can shift the focus to how Shanahan has failed as GM. Another bad pick by Denver. Blah, blah, blah.

But we, the fans, are the ones that get fired up every Sunday to support them. We are the ones that pay money for gear, tickets and beer. We are the ones that Shanny should be thinking about when he decides to make this move. No one knows better than him about whether or not it can work. He clearly has reservations or he would've done it by now.

My main point of the thread is to see if you believe we will go into narrow head and come out with a win. No one goes into there late november early december and wins, and we can't afford two losses!

Optimist or pessimist in terms of what? I'm optimistic of Denver making the playoffs, but the anemic pass rush has shaken my confidence in how deep we can go into the playoffs.

Meck,
A realist would make a loss in KC more likely than not. That said, the psche of NFL teams is tough to figure. I love Jake, but...how much worse can he play? It's clear Shanny's lost faith--and why wouldn't he? In all seriousness, maybe Jake needs a head shriker to work him over! This is all between the ears. Bottom line: if you can't beat the playoff competition in Mile Hi, you won't see them here in January. If you're on the road in Jan, and THIS Jake is at the helm, we won't like what we see. Cutler (maybe vs. Seattle) is a major roll of the dice. Staying with THIS Jake is riding the ship to the bottom of the sea.

Optimist. Jake didn't lose this game. His mistakes on the final drive were just the last nail in the coffin on the game.

A Realist. The broncos could still lose to the chiefs Thursday and be in the playoffs as a wildcard. The chiefs conference record is horrible and we have tiebreakers over them and if we beat the Bengals in December.

Oh... well then an optimist. This team is capable of beating any team any day. Sometimes I don't know how, but they always hang with the NFL's best when I find it improbable. They have already played two good road games this year in Foxborough and Pittsburgh. They have it in them and they may just be a little pissed off.

Besides, why would Jake make it easy on us? Everyone is ready to just write him off after we lose to Kansas City. Knowing Jake it'd be just like him to come out with his best game of the season and beat Kansas City. Then we'd be in a pickel, huh?

He does seem to do that.

Im definitely an optimist, KC is a MUST win, as is the SD game. And I think we can win both. We STILL control our own destiny for the division and because of that, i am THRILLED!

Cutler coming in is definitely a possibility, and i still stand with goin 6-0 to finish up, Jake is playing half a playbook now anyway.

I am an endless optimist.

Maybe that's why coming on this board lately is so excruciating!? So kill me now!

pessmist that this team has what it takes to reach the super bowl this season, optimist that they'll find a way to make the playoffs

optimist long term with the past offseason moves of adding cutler and javon, with a full load of draft picks to come in the coming offseason. Shanahan seems to be getting better at the draft and draft day manuevers

If we lose to KC I want to see Cutler starting in December to cut his learning curve for next year.

I've been in the pessimist camp ever since our SB loss to the Redskins. My objective now is not to get so wound up in the team that I blow a gasket. Pessimism definitely helps me in that regard. It's been alot better on my blood pressure.

That said, I don't look forward to the game on Thursday.

overly optimistic. i was here touting a SB as a very real possibility. i was being an optimist thinking that no mistake jake would show up for another 2 years while cutler was brought up to perfection.

now, i just dont know. my homerism cant ignore the lack of production from the QB position despite great production out of the other 10 guys on the field and a lot of the backups.its very frustrating to see all the talent around him and yet jake still does not produce.
