With a 37-10 win at Autzen Stadium against the Oregon Ducks. Sure makes Oklahoma look like ****.
They accomplished this with 3 straight victories against ranked opponents (@ #25 Wazzu, #8 Cal and #25 Oregon). They still have the Duel in the Desert against ASU to determine if they go to a better bowl game. They should get a good middle tier bowl because of their wins against BYU, Wazzu, Cal and Oregon. |

That was pretty amazing! It's good to see that AZ finally put a program together. They've been flailing around ever since Larry Smith left that program. Hopefully this one can be long standing.
Anyway, the Ducks are my team now (at least in football) and I was definitely bummed to see the loss. But, hey, AZ showed up and played well! Now, basketball...that's another story! GO CATS! ![]() |

Yeah, should be a good year for sports at UA. Football is going to a bowl, baskeball team is ranked #15 and baseball should be good this season.

Anyway, congrats on the win! As I said before, when I was in Dallas this year for the Red River Shootout, the name I kept hearing over and over was Mike Stoops. OU fans really miss that guy. If he sticks around Arizona, I think he could build you guys into a Pac 10 contender, hell you beat two of the top teams in your confernce this year. It will be interesting to see how the Pac 10 shakes out. If USC beats Cal and wins out you will have a 1 loss USC team followed by a 3 loss Cal team a 4 or 5 loss Oregon (should already be 5) or a 4 or 5 loss Oregon st. When the third team in your confernce has 4-5 losses its not a good confernce. Its not like you can claim you're the SEC where eveyone beats up on each other. |

I wanna be happy for them, I saw them beat Cal and everything. But CU has a 4-Star high school linebacker recruit - Apaiata Tuihalamaka - who is a tenuous "soft verbal" commitment right now .... and he's visiting AZ this week. http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=148&p=8&c=1&nid=2438811
Hope the turkey is dry in the desert ... |

Good to see AZ do something again. I miss the ole days of Teddy B and the "desert swarm" defense!

Ah that pic brings back memories. Do they still have the knot hole in the endzone? I use to sit there as a kid. I think tix were 5 bucks.

Oh, I remember when tickets were 5 bucks. We used to go to all of the Civil war games when I was a kid. We ruled ASU every year. We were like 6-0 or something along those lines. That place rocked every game.

Were you at the game where the Snake pounded the Cats at home 56 to something rediculous? It was ugly. I hated Jake back then. It was the UofA mall that got me into tailgating. Man we had some great parties out there. Not sure if the tradition died down recently since the team has sucked but back in the day it was a holiday in Tucson!

Oh yeah. I remember tailgating on the mall. It was just a circus out there. I wasn't at that game....I just remember hating ASU...wait, I still hate them!
Was that game when Toomey took over as coach? I can't remember. |

I bet UA could beat LSU right now if they did a rematch. LSU struggled against a horrible Ole Miss team at home and UA won convincingly at Oregon and beat Cal the week before.
SEC fans keep in mind that you don't have a good record once you travel outside the Dixie. Last edited by Jose Chung; 11-20-2006 at 02:56 AM.. |

I would like to see Oregon play us now. Our defensive woes have been more than fixed. But thanks for your pac-10 homerisms...it gives me a good laugh. |

yeah, uh huh, sure, definitely, yep...no. youre an improving team and im pulling for ya but we match up very well with you. our run D shut you down and knocked the sh it outta tuitama while the offense marched up and down the field on the defense. the ole miss game we had a horrible ST breakdown on each return leaving us with horrible field position. oregon is a team where if it rains it pours, evidence: cal(which i was at), SC, and arizona. its just the nature of the spread option, ya shut em down for a little and they will never get going, you let em get off some big plays and they will run a ton of variations of that. |

Mack said yesterday he will be 100% but who knows. Colt himself didn't say he was 100%. The good thing about the aggies is that thier strengths play into ours they have a strong run game and we have a great run D. Our pass D has killed us this year. I'm not sure what it is, they have some talented guys back there but they have given up alot of big plays and have bitten on trick ones. Should be a good game.

What kills me about aenemm is that they don't run Goodson more. That guy goes from 0-100 in a step! Guess that's why they have lost 2 in a row. |
