Default Did Shanahan get overconfident?

I mean...deactivating Bell? It almost bit him in the ass.

He is right. Shanny made a bonehead decision by deactivating him.

Ya I agree. I dont think it was over confidence by shanahan though. Mike Bell missed some open lanes against Pitt., according to Shan.

No Shanahan tried to give some valuable playing time, and instill some confidence in some back-up guys that may be needed down the stretch, and at the same time hopefully lit a fire under some starting caliber players to let them know what the standards of the organization are.

All the while a lineup that you might see in the 2nd QTR of a preseason game beat the Raiders.

Should have have done the tryout thing with the QB, I think we would have a new starting QB if he'd gave Cutler a chance.

Shanahan gave credit to the Raiders D:

Outside of a nifty 39-yard touchdown pass from Plummer to Walker, the Broncos offense was close to a bust.

"The Oakland Raiders had something to do with that," Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said. "Their defense played extremely well. They kept us off balance and made a bunch of plays."

Shanahan saw the Bells getting bottled up at the LOS too often, and wanted to give a kid who's shown flashes a chance. Shanahan said he earned it in practice.

Hope he gets another shot. He showed some promise before the fumble. He got stuffed on one run, but the rest were pretty solid. I'd love to see him get 10 carries or so this week.

Mike Bell sucks wind after nearly every run over 5 yards and Tatum is nursing some injuries.

Why has nobody thought that the primary purpose for bringing in fresh legs is because of the above and the fact that we have 2 brutal games coming up in the next 10 days?

We need all the fresh, experienced legs we can get.
