I know a lot of us aren't very happy with the QB play, DL, RBs, etc.
But I for one look at the entire season so far and I'm really excited and elated. The major reason is that the coaches (Shanahan, Coyer) have still managed to guide and gameplan this team to the top of the AFC West and 7-2 with poor DL play and argueably Plummer's worst season since his early days in 'zona. Plummer has played like a rookie so far. He simply has not been able to consistently beat defenses when they go one on one on our WRs and stack against the run. Bottom Line: If our team can go 7-2 with Plummer and this DL then I have every reason to believe next year we can have a similar winning record with Jay Cutler in there even if he struggles badly just like Plummer has so far. But the difference is even if Jay struggles, he WILL beat teams deep when they go one on one with our WRs because he has the arm to do it. Just wanted to cheer up the folks here at the 'mane. |

But the guy I've been watching for a "Cutler Barometer" is not Plummer - it's Phillip Rivers. He and Jay have a lot in common, they both started 4 years and 40+ games for below-average teams in college, and they both will have had at least one full year to learn. There's no reason to think Cutler won't be as good as Rivers next year. And Rivers has been damn good. |

I think that its amazing that we are 7-2 in SPITE of some of our short comings. It will definitely make things wonderful when those problems are remedied, how good can we be at that time?

Here's how the rest looks. I'll bold my lock wins for us
Denver: 7-2 11 Sun Nov.19 vs. San Diego INVESCO Field at Mile High 12 Thu Nov.23 at Kansas City Arrowhead Stadium 13 Sun Dec. 3 vs. Seattle INVESCO Field at Mile High 14 Sun Dec.10 at San Diego Qualcomm Stadium 15 Sun Dec.17 at Arizona Cardinals Stadium 16 Sun Dec.24 vs. Cincinnati INVESCO Field at Mile High 17 Sun Dec.31 vs. San Francisco INVESCO Field at Mile High We'd finish 11-5 or 12-4 Chargers: 7-2 Sunday, November 19 5:15 pm* Denver Broncos (13-3) NBC Sunday, November 26 1:05 pm* Oakland Raiders (4-12) CBS Sunday, December 3 10:00 am* Buffalo Bills (5-11) CBS Sunday, December 10 1:15 pm* Denver Broncos (13-3) CBS Sunday, December 17 1:05 pm* Kansas City Chiefs (10-6) CBS Sunday, December 24 1:15 pm Seattle Seahawks (13-3) CBS Sunday, December 31 1:15 pm* Arizona Cardinals (5-11) FOX I could see them also going 12-4. We own the tie-braker for in conference losses. It will be important to at least split the series with them so that a tie would give us the conference. 11/19/06 Oakland Raiders 12:00 PM CBS* 11/23/06 Denver Broncos 7:00 PM 12/03/06 at Cleveland Browns 12:00 PM CBS* 12/10/06 Baltimore Ravens 12:00 PM CBS* 12/17/06 at San Diego Chargers 3:05 PM CBS* 12/23/06 at Oakland Raiders 7:00 PM 12/31/06 Jacksonville Jaguars 12:00 PM CBS* The Chiefs go 9-7. My, they do suck don't they? Am I right in seeing that they've only beat one AFC opponent thus far? That's pretty weak sauce. |

Nothing is for certain any more with this team apart from the Defense.
Even our vaunted running game has gone. Jake could come out and throw 4 TDs the next game or 4 ints. Either one is just as likely. I'd like to believe we could take SD next, but man that is going to be a tough, tough game. But I do agree with Kaylore, their defense hasn't been the same since they lost Merriman and a bunch of their LBers. They've been given up a ton of points, and in Mile High I expect the Broncos to win. Marty will do his part! |

We have to really rally an effort and run the table to get into the playoffs with a first round bye. It will be tough, not impossible.
The difference between SD and Denver is that we are mentally tougher. I would say they are definitely more talented. They were the same way last year as well. If you play smart, they will blow the game especially in an opposing teams house. They've done it twice now against good teams, Baltimore and KC. Sunday will bring the third time it will happen. |

13-3 for me. The only game we'll lose is the 49er one with Plummer and the rest of the 2nd string brought in to replace Cutler, Walker, Smith etc cos we've already clinched the 2 seed.

Who needs a decoy like Reggie Bush when you can rent one for 300 bucks a game? |

Why oh why do people need cheering up after a Raiders road win? Those are always the scariest games of the season, especially with Denvers habit of underplaying at least one really weak team per season. This was the mid season let-down, AND IT WAS A WIN. Our only losses are the fluke St louis game and the last minute field goal against NFL front office babies and Quarterback Jesus.
Every week that goes by I am closer to concluding that Denver might have the most spoiled whiney fans in the league. |

You can not possibly say because the team is 7-2 right now, they will be again next year with Cutler at QB. The defense may not be as good, the run game may not be as good, teams will blitz Cutler like crazy and the o-line may have troubles, Cutler may force throws into coverage, and the schedule could be tougher. One year to the next is not away to guage how a team will do otherwise the teams that don't make the playoffs have no reason to play next year if it's that easy.
Marty has a 3-13 career record in Denver, so the odds are with the Broncos. Plus, the Chargers are coming of a tough road win, hard to win two road games in consecutive weeks in the NFL, especially against good teams. Broncos have to limit turnovers and no big plays allowed by the defense. They do those two things, I like their chances. |

Hey, folks. The Broncos have won 4 out of 5 road games this season, and 3 out of 4 home games. Be happy.

I think I'll be among the few that enjoy the 7-2 record right now. If and when Jay is our starter, I'll support him then...isn't that what fans do? Support their team? Sometimes I wonder... ![]() |
