Default Shanahan could pass Stram

If the Broncos win on Sunday Mike Shanahan will pass Hank Stram on the all time wins list for an NFL head coach. Mike passed Weeb Ewbanks on the list in a game already this year, I believe it was the Browns game. Another Bronco passing up a Chief

Read and learn, Bob ... from our Official OM HOF Thread:

________________________________________________

One 'IN' . . .
JOHN ELWAY

One 'LOCK' . . .
SHANNON SHARPE - Most TE catches, yards and TDs ever, 3 Lombardis, All-Decade Team 1990s ... Just two years away now, make your reservations.

Four very, very close . . .

GARY ZIMMERMAN - A finalist this year. Two NFL All-Decade teams, 7 Pro Bowls, 2 USFL All-Pros, 1 Lombardi. One HOF elector said, "there's not enough juice in the room for him yet," but with OTs Bob Brown and Rayfield Wright getting in recently after long waits, it's probably just a matter of time. Rayfield's biggest plusses? NFL All-Decade team and a SB win. Well, Zim has an SB and TWO All-Decade teams.

CHAMP BAILEY - 7 seasons, 6 Pro Bowls. At least three 1st team All-Pro designations. Three or four more Pro Bowls in a row and he's probably in. It seems like voters love guys who were "the dominant player in the league at his position during his career."

STEVE ATWATER - 8 Pro Bowls in 9 year-span, 2 Lombardis, NFL All-Decade team 1990s. Was eligible this year (I think - or next year). Nobody talks much about him - he's sneaking up on us. Imho, I think he'll shock us - maybe next year.

MIKE SHANAHAN - More than two Lombardis: He now has NINE Conference ch-ship appearances in his 21 year NFL career. And the most wins ever by an NFL coach over a 10-year span (I think). In the past 14 years (incl. SF), Shanny’s offenses have finished Top 4 in the NFL NINE TIMES (plus 5th last year). His personal mentoring made HOF careers happen for two of the All-Time Top 5 QB's (twice for Elway: 84-90 and 95-98).

I hate the HOF. Why Zim isnt a 1st ballot HOFer is beyond me.

We can have a Bronco passing up a Chief while beating up on the Raiders. That sounds like a plan to me...

TD should be considered too. zim should be in, twice all-decade, i think hes the only lineman to do that. if sharpe doesnt get in then the HOF needs to be abolished

It was only 14 game seasons back then right?

Is Shannys winning percentage during the regular season better? Just curious.

The Matriculator was a fine coach and fine person. When it's all said and done, Shanahan will be remembered with the likes of Landry and Shula most likely. Stram didn't coach all that long. If that talking clown Madden can make the HOF why can't any bronco other than the Duke?

I don't give a **** about the HOF...I consider it a joke.

I doubt Shanahan is very concerned about win totals, more about Oakland this week.

Do we really need to stomp on Hank's grave.

I was so angry that I took it out in the front yard on my best friend in kiddo football in 1969. Heh...I beat the crap out of him I was so pissed off that matriculating day.

I've been a fan for 40 years and still don't know a damn thing.

The truth hurts I know........did you ever think about how much more talent is in the NFL now then back in the late 60's early 70's? Nothing like passing up a Chief on a weekend they drop one and ripping the heart out of the Raiders on the same day. Amazing how the fans of a team who hasn't had a sniff of a championship since 1969 still tries to find ways to downplay the facts of a REAL winning team.

I know that you have had long hard day of watching the ketchup & mustard mullets blowing the game, why don't you go outside the trailer & suck on the headers of that hillbilly hotrod that your rich uncle is building for you.

My rich uncle gave me a bunch of money to throw at my hillbilly hotrod. So, I'm cool.

Though I appreciate the homosexual inuendo that you shot over the bow, I must respectfully decline. Crazy' don't get down like that. Are you having cold feet?
