Default The reason why Champ should've been on Wayne

I think we all can agree Champ is one if not the best CB in the league. One would think he could play either side of the CB position. Darrent played left CB in college so I know he should be fine playing that position.

Harrison was listed on the injury report as having hamsting problems. Add that to the size issues I can't image why Darrent was stuck on Wayne the whole game. Am I mission something?

Wayne wasn't. It was obvious Harrisson was having problems. He didn't run one deep route the whole game.

Yeah he did in the first quarter and Bailey almost picked it off. It doesn't matter who Toast was covering. The Colts would have dominated him either way.

For what it's worth, the thought of D.Will covering Harrison is giving me daymares, or whatever kind of mares you get when you're awake and horrified.

Don't get me wrong either. I'm a D.Will fan and support the guy 100%. I just think he had a bad game.

Theres a few things that Coyer did, or didnt do, that perplexed me.

Whatever happened to 9 guys on the LOS so he never knows whos coming? Don't know why that wouldnt work like a 3-4 would. No, we're just gonna stick with our base-cover 2 defense so that everyone whos watching or playing know what Manning is gonna do.

I havent even really thought about Pittsburgh either. Still sulking about this one.

I think Coyer (Shanahan?) wanted a leptis test to see what the D could do in "Base Defense". That way they would know what its real weaknesses were, and when watching film they could make real adjustments to real problems. There were no smoke and mirrors, what you see is what you get. They can make adjustments in the future, but this was a great opportunity to see what our (base) defense could do against the standard for offenses in the NFL.

Well, when you put 9 men on LOS and only rush five it takes those 4 other guys longer to drop into their passing lanes. You can't fool manning so why have your LBers out of position? I don't think it would have mattered what Denver did.

The fact is that if you want to beat the Colts you have to be able to pressure Manning with a four man rush. Denver wasn't able to do that.

Next years draft within their first 4 picks Denver needs to get 2 DEs and a DT.

I just can't figure it out....

The Broncos went into the half having held the Colts in check - not quite dominating them, but certainly controlling them.

The Colts, as all pro football teams do, made adjustments and tried something different in the second half -- i.e., picking on the single coverage away from Champ Bailey.

So why the heck couldn't Coyer adjust as well after they started in on D.Williams? By the middle of the 3rd, you, me, and all of Broncos nation realized what the game plan was. WHY, OH WHY, COULDN'T WE ADJUST?

Makes you almost think we're holding something back for the playoffs, doesn't it? (I guess I'm just an eternal optimist.)

Perhaps it's time to jump back off the bandwagon. You can still be a Pats fan. I think they won this week.

It's because of Manning. The guy is as brillaint as his forehead is big.

Coyer wasn't out coached it's just Manning is too great. If you give him time to throw or if you blitz him he'll make you pay........ I think I'm gonna throw up.
