With the attention that the "most loony" thread has gotten, this one might be a bit of fun as well. Here we go.
The Best Posters in the WARRP Forum: 1. Footstepsfrom27 - the dude has the internet debate thing down. He is well educated and can develop complex opinions within arguments well in the internet setting. Clear, concise, and detailed. Not only does he develop his arguments well, but they come from his own well-reasoned opinions. I have yet to see someone really show him some competition in this forum. 2. W*GS - His well-educated and non-mainstream ideas are a lightning rod for the partisans of this forum. His opponents often resort to slander tactics against him so that they dont have to do research. 3. claviculasolomonis - His opinions are certainly unique and he brings an interesting perspective to most discussions. He also has helped to keep this place palatable at times when things have become intolerable here. 4. Falconer - This fellow displays the type of character that we all should admire while conversing with others in this environment. He has great takes and brings a balanced, honest, patient, and kind presentation with his opinions. He's an example for all of us, and his opinions are great. 5. Rohirrim - Another guy who keeps up with the times, and has relatively unique opinions. Has an appretiation of history, and a nice flavor of sarcasm. All in all, he's a poster that brings something to the discussion most of the time he's involved. 6. ClevelandBronco - He rarely gets involved in this forum with lengthy opinions, but you can certainly see wisdom in his contributions when he gives them. Underappreciated here. 7. defenseman - he isnt loud, doesnt annoy and has some of the best takes in the forum. Especially on war issues. He walks soft but carries the proverbial large stick. 8. BroncoBuff - Interesting and fun guy to have a conversation with. 9. Enjolras - always brings good ideas and original discussion to the table. 10. TheDave - Witty, well-educated, and contributes well to science discussion. Last edited by epicSocialism4tw; 11-03-2006 at 01:07 PM.. |

You didn't include enough people. I know you don't like LABF, but he should be included in the poll if for no other reason than he's a lightening rod for discussion--love'em or hate'em. Where's enjolras? He's one of the better posters in terms of quality. Atlas? The Dave? Baja? Spider? Slug? You should have called this poll "Who's the Best Poster Among the Posters I Like (With a Couple of Liberals Thrown in to Feign Fairness)".

I wanted a top 10, and waited to round it out...for other opinions. I forgot about enjolras, who is also good, and theDave, who also deserves a poll slot.

If a mod comes along, could you please edit the poll to include:
9. Enjolras and 10. TheDave Last edited by epicSocialism4tw; 11-03-2006 at 01:24 PM.. |

Then it ought to include heavy contributors like Slug and LABF (even if you don't like them) so the poll can truly gage the opinions of everyone.

I voted for wags, he's one of the few who actually represents ideas and intellectual rigor. so many ppl on this forum are transparently partisan that the debate is hopelessly degraded in almost no time.

Hell, put yavoon in the poll, too. My guess is he won't get a single vote since he gets along with practically no poster (including on the football forum), arguing often times simply for the sake of being contrarian, but fair is fair. He makes solid points here and there.

oh and for the record.
I think i'm one of the WORST posters on this forum. if you do vote for me, expect to be on some "Do not..." list..... Footsteps is good at debate, and makes good arguments. I can't "hang" with him in that aspect other than when i know he's wrong, i know he's wrong. Wags - i've gotten lots of good info and convo from wags. But wags and are I are in some ways ideological opposed. Where he's for status quo and as Wags would say "with my youthful vigor of piss and impatience" i'd rather knock it all down, instead of just patching the walls. (Why clean the house when you can buy a new one kinda thing... )Falconer - i have nothing against falconer other than some key disagreements. But other than that - at least he gives honest effort. Clavicula solomonis - Is a crazy crazy MF'er. Isn't afraid to tell you to STFU in one post, and give you a beer in the next. Most people don't understand him, because he really is insane. ClevelandBronco - For anyone to be a bronco fan and live in cleveland - they have to be insane, and they must like having everyone tell them to go to hell.... ![]() Dman - I like Dman. I disagree with him alot. But i think if you took where i felt things should go, and where he thinks things should go (for gov't v. people) - i think we could find a happy medium for 90% of things. BroncoBuff - knows seattle and i have no problem with him. I disagree with him a bit - but when do i agree with anyone 100%. that's my synopsis |

Here's a list of others that I considered for the top 10:
Hotrod, Spider, SmilingAssassin, Big Guy, Bendog. If you guys want to vote for another, mention it in your post. We'll keep a count of those too. |

Where is the mad yack option.
These things are dumb but I voted anyway I voted for Josh, great links and interesting views. I like many others just as well though. This list with out LABF is meaningless and self seving on the part of the mad yack |
