Default Is there a 'magic number' for when Jake gets the boot?

I'm wondering, since the broncs are headed on the road for awhile. Shanny's clearly not pleased, and is getting somewhat testy on the qb issue. And does it seem like he and Jake have too many 'discussions' on the sidelines? I think Shanny's itching to put Cutler in, but he's trying to figure a way to do it without fracturing the team OR wrecking the season. It may not be possible, but still...

And you gotta wonder what Jake thinks when he goes home at night. Everyone else has been run out of town since 99. Will he be next on the scratch list?

mediocre crunch plays = bus ticket

This is Jay Cutler we're talking about. He'll just need a quick trim to get the split ends out of his eyes, a powerbar, and a fully juiced Ipod to listen to in between plays.

Jay Cutler could outplay Jake Plummer five seconds after you roused Jay from a deep sleep.

I think if Jake has a good game this week, he will play all year no matter what. (unless we SOMEHOW lose any chance of making the playoffs)

If Jake plays like last week (Even though i believe cutler would do better) he will continue to play if he has a couple of bad games we might see Jay.

Wish we had a report form some of the insiders as to how jay is doing in practice. seems Dove valley is more secret than NORRAD

It'd be quite a challenge wouldn't it?

Somehow, someway breaking that impossible feat of being in the top 30 Quarterbacks in the NFL.

By some miracle out-performing the 2006 Quarterbacking genius of...

Byron Leftwich, J.P. Losman, Daunte Culpepper, Brad Johnson, Steve McNair, Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Bledsoe, Bruce Gradkowski, Charlie Frye, Matt Leinart (the 21-30th ranked QB's this season, with Ratings of 79 to 66 respectively)

Well an impossible feat for Jake anyways.

These numbers would suggest, it would be harder for Jay NOT to do better than Jake, than he would do worse than Jake.

Even though Jake palyed well Sunday, I think Pittsburgh will either be his D-Day or his Waterloo. If he plays poorly on the road and we lose, I think you'll probably see Cutler the next week. If he plays well and we win, I think he'll continue to play well and keep his job for the duration of the season.

I don't think Jay will play unless we get to 5-4, and then only if Jake costs us the games.

Pitt is going to be desperate....we are away and they have a very good defense. Jake gets a pass if he plays poorly....Most QBs will have bad days in those conditions.

Oakland. That will be Jakes Waterloo. Jake must play well there.
If we lose to Oakland we will drop to 5-4...probably fall behind KC and be third in the division, if not tied with them in 4th. Unacceptable performance for a team that has superbowl designs. IF the loss is Jakes fault, then Cutler will start playing. He still may not start against SD. But the hook will come out if Jake turns it over.

The way Shanahan hates an increasingly incontinent Crazy Al, a loss to Oakland would send him off a cliff or pull the rug. Put my money on the rug.

I think the chances are better than 50/50 that Jake finishes the season if we are in playoff contention. Elimination from the playoffs you definetely will see Rocket Man.

Otherwise, it will likely be after June 1 altho spreading cap hits has been adjusted a bit. I am pretty sure he restructured, but I'm also pretty sure we would still gain cap space.

If the Broncos lose to the Steelers maybe, if they lose both to the Steelers and the Raiders it's done deal and should be.

The Steelers game should be a win, so maybe he keeps his job another week.
