Default Steelers Are Next, It'll Take More Than 13 Completions To Beat Them

This won't be the 'Colts worst defense in the league' we will be playing next week. The Steelers are teetering on the brink of being eliminated from the playoffs already and I imagine they will be playing every game from here on out for their playoff life.

No way we run for 200 yards against these guys. We're probably going to need to pass for over 200 though.

Cowher screwed up playing Big Ben this week instead of waiting until our game to get him back in but he'll probably be ready against us so we better be ready against them, on both sides of the ball.

yep, the broncos aren't ready, they are 5-3 and commence their own fight to stay in the hunt......dman

*Defense must show up, then again, Indy did what Big ben and Pitts did to us in last yrs afc championship game. Pretty sad. Jake better be ready to run and throw, I would guess there is not alot of running room on sunday..dman

Hopefully the defense wont collapse like they did against the Clots yesterday, or the Steelers in the AFC title game. We might be able to win if that doesnt happen again.

I can see the Steelers licking their chops at that Bronco defense. I doubt Plummer can throw for over 200 yards in this one since I don't think the offense will be on the field much considering all ben has to do is find the soft spot in the zone and someone will be open every time. So the Steelers will be controlling the ball and clock and limit the possessions the Broncos even get. Plus, when is the last time the Bronco offense started with good field position? Seems like they are starting at their 20 or worse on nearly every possession.

Ya know... I am getting tired of hearing all this talk about the Steelers being ticked off about lossing to the Raiders (at least from the Steeler fans around here). And how they are going to take it out on the Broncos.

Well maybe the Broncos are a little ticked off as well... losing a close game to the Colts.. and also having the Steelers beat them at their house in the AFC Championship game.

We will see.

Both teams will be playing with a chip on their shoulders (it should be a good game) hopefully DW learned his lesson (which iam sure the coaches) will let him know this week and hopefully warren is back to plug up the middle. Cause we all saw what the colts went after yesterday.

Plummer's big problem next week is Pittsburgh will take away the rollouts. It will be interesting to see if he can string together two good games in a row.

"Must win" games are the most overrated concept in sports. If a team was really as good as their reputation, they wouldn't be in the position to need a must win game.

it's not like Pitts D is playing bad, they held the raiders, but big ben gave up 2 pick 6's.

I doubt he will do that again

we are going to have to struggle to win this game and it will be low scoring

Back to those low-scoring games we've come to know and love, before yesterday at least.

If the Raiders can do it, so can we.

hmmm, I must be alone, but I am more confident in this game now than I was before the indy game. The Defense is going to come out firing, and the offensive playcalling is getting better.

I don't know about any of this, maybe so but the Colts are the worst team in the league against the rush and they showed why yesterday. We aren't running for 200 against the Steelers.

If we are down at the half, bring on the kid.

We need to keep pace with SD so when we beat them, we own the division outright.

I doubt DW has those kinds of troubles vs the steelers. Toothlessberger is no Manning and they don't have any WRs as good as Wayne or Harrison.

home field for the steelers will be worth at least 7. shanny prolly has been keepin stuff in the closet for this game, he knows the road to the SB goes through INdy and Peetsberg. But it would be nice to go in with a do or die 'tude as well.

The fade's D isn't that bad and can get after the QB. They have given up a lot of points due to an inep O and being on the field a lot.

Wilson the other Steeler starting WR had a good game last time in the playoffs if I remember correctly, so can Darrent or someone else cover him?

I would take Hines Ward over either of those guys.

Different style of reciever. I like Ward and certainly respect his leadership, but I don't see him as having more football talent.

We can beat Pitts. Hopefully this is the one gimme ****up game for our D. All the great defenses we want to compare ours to had a game or two where they were just bad.

The 85 Bears gave up 38 points to Miami in that Monday nighter

The 2000 Ravens gave up 36 points to the Jags and 500 yards of offense to Vinny and the Jets. If our defense can recover and hold Pittsburgh to 20 or less, we can win this game, and Jake doesn't need to have a miracle game.

I'll take 13 completions if there's 2 TDs and 200 yards in there. We don't know whether we can run on Pitts, because we fell behind so much last year that we had to pass too much.

That's a myth of football. Jake has got to have balance to be successful, so IMO we should stay balanced no matter what the score is. If you go exclusively pass that plays directly to our QBs weakness, rather that playing to his strength.

I'd LOVE to see some no-huddle. This one pre-season, Elway was calling his own plays, quick huddle if not no huddle, it was ridiculous. But he couldn't handle it and had to give the play calling back to Fassell. Speaking from experiance, it is so hard to call the plays and play QB. Anyway, we should break out the no huddle on the Steelers if we are having trouble moving the ball. It pretty much guarantees a 1st down or two, and if nothing else forces Pittsburgh to play on their heels if not burn a timeout.

Wait aren't we 5-2 or am I missing something in that post. I really think that Rothlisberger may be sitting next week. I also get sick of hearing about the licking of the chops by the Steelers. They are 2-5 how many times can one team lick their chops? They lost to Jacksonville only to turn around and lost to the Bengals at home! That is their fiercest rial and still lost and then lost again. Our D will bounce back and Roth nor Batch are the caliber of what they just faced. I am looking towards a FG game again. Or if Roth plays we are going to finally get some D scores!

I see him as having more talent because he does more things well than those guys. I would take Ward over any NFL wide receiver not named Torry Holt.
