Default Plummer vs. Manning 2006

Pass/ATT yds avg yds/pass TD INT FUM
Peyton Manning 32/39 345 8.8 3 0 0

Jake Plummer 13/21 174 8.3 1 0 0

Call me when we get a true franchise QB.

The Colts play give and go. They find a weakness and expose it.
A good QB regardless of arm strength and other physical attributes.
ALWAYS finds a way to get the ball to his skill players.
A great QB makes others around him better.
A great QB can win games even when others around him are causing them to lose.

Jim Kelly, Montana, Elway, Marino, Brady, Manning all fit this description.

Plummer doesn't end of story.

Start Cutler next week. I know Plummer had a DECENT game. Actually average if you look at the stats, however, for the way he has been playing it's actually a great game for him.

That fumble that SETUP another easy TD for an opposing team cost us the game along with Coyer's inability to get to Manning down the stretch.

Our D knew Manning would drive it down at will and beat us in the end, just like the good ol' days when Elway, Marino, Montana, Kelly and Brady would.

Not every team can have Manning.

You're going to see a guy like Manning once every 20 years or so.

Compare Jake to Cutler's pre-season all you want, but do not compare either of them to Manning.

If we have a QB that consistently gets passer ratings of 85 - 95 per season, that position is secure and we should look at filling other parts of the team (DE's anyone? Some depth on the O-line?)
