Colin Cowherd said on his ESPN Radio show that the Broncos head coaching job was the best job in all of football. He had Texas 2nd, and USC 3rd.
His reasoning behind the Broncos job is that they have a great owner who is committed to winning, and a great fan base. He says Texas and USC are great coaching jobs because those schools are committed to winning, both places are great areas to recruit in, great fan bases, great weather in those locations, and both places are great to live in. Colin is a big Notre Dame fan, but he said that he wouldn't rank that job high because you have to live in South Bend. He did mention the weather factor with Denver, because it does snow and get really cold. He said that it's not a problem when you are right next to Aspin. |

He's always been very big on Denver, and the Broncos specifically.
I know he can rub some the wrong way, and in reality he's trying to, but I really like his show.... |

Early last year all of the media, including Cowherd, was piling on the Broncos after their week one melt down at Mia. Around mid season Cowherd was one of the few to admit that he goofed on the Broncos, and pumped them up as one of the top teams in the league, when everybody else was still on the Chargers bandwagon. Hell, everybody is still on the Chargers bandwagon.

Maybe for shannahan, but can you imagine if Shanny retires and we are forced into a couple of non-winning seasons due to a new guy. This fan base has been thinking bowl or bust for 10 years, hell there is an increasing population of bronco fans where 1999 is the worst season they've experienced. This fan base, great as it may be, wouldn't be fun to deal with during a rebuilding period.
