Default Michael J Fox, American Hero... Rush Limbaugh, American Scum

Fox answers critics and does it without demeaning his critics but by discussing stem cell facts. Rush Limbaugh and all you religious right individuals would do well to do the same.

Michael J. Fox is hardly an "American hero", but Rush's ignorance on Parkinson's disease illustrates why I don't listen to him anymore and haven't for a few years. He has lost touch with real life...

Actually, he is. He is devoting his time, his money and the rest of his life to finding help and a cure for millions of people who suffer from this disease.

What's your definition of a hero?

He also happens to have the disease, so he kind of has a stake in it. If he didn't have it, would he still be this involved? Probably not.

This still doesn't negate what he's doing, contrary to your bull**** spin.

My dad died of Parkinsons. Fox is pretty much a hero to me. I admired C.Reeves' courage too.

My dad just got diagnosed with Parkinsons last year... I'm good with anyone trying to increase funding for research

I reserve the term "hero" to those who put their lives on the line every day for the safety of others. Police, firefighters and military are prime examples of people who get "American hero" status in my mind.

That's one definition of hero. But i'd say there can be many applications of hero's to many different things.

That's a pretty narrow view IMO. We have a great number of heroes in our country. From teachers to humanitarians.

And I knew I could count on the Mad Yak to post nothing but his usual garbage when the religious right is put in the spotlight for their usual stance of directing their morality on the rest of the world.
