NCAA Report – Saturday, November 11, 2006

Dartmouth beats Cornell 3-2. David Jones was held pointless and had two shots on goal. Mark McCutcheon scored once on two shots and finished plus one. After going up 3-0, Dartmouth gave up two goals in the final minute of the third period, but held on for the victory.

Miami doubles up Lake Superior 4-2. Justin Mercier scored once on two shots and was minus one for the game.

Minnesota and St. Cloud State skate to a 3-3 tie. Ryan Stoa had one assist and finished plus one. Michael Carman had three shots on goal and was even. Derek Peltier did not register a shot on goal and was minus two.

Denver sweeps a two game set against Wisconsin with a 4-3 overtime win. Recap

Michigan beats Nebraska-Omaha 5-1. TJ Hensick had one shot on goal and was minus one. Billy Sauer made 32 saves and increased his record to 7-3-0. He was named the second star of the game.

Albany edges Grand Rapids 3-2. Tyler Weiman made 34 saves. Kyle Cumiskey had the only assist on the game winning goal, which was short-handed. Cumiskey has six points in his first 11 games. Box score

Kitchener trips up Belleville 3-2. Victor Oreskovich registered no points in the game.

Kingston beats Barrie 5-4. Chris Stewart was minus one and penalized for tripping in the first period.

WHL

Medicine Hat shuts out Brandon 3-0. Codey Burki was minus one.

Kamloops beats Chilliwack 6-4. Raymond Macias had two assists.

Seattle tops Portland 4-1. Chris Durand was minus one.

Central Hockey League

Arizona gets a 5-4 shoot-out win over Youngstown. Kris Mayotte made 31 saves. Richard Demen-Willaume had an assist.

NCAA Report – Friday, November 17, 2006

Cornell trips up Princeton 3-2. Mark McCutcheon scored once on three shots and was plus one for the game. After having 15 points in 34 games last season, McCutcheon already has eight in his first seven games.

Yale doubles up Dartmouth 4-2. David Jones scored on his only shot of the game and added an assist. He was named the third star of the game. Jones continues to lead the Big Green in scoring with 11 points in seven games.

New Hampshire beats UMass-Lowell 5-2. Brett Hemingway had one assist. He has 10 points in nine games, but only one goal.

Ohio State stomps Bowling Green 9-3. Kevin Montgomery scored his first NCAA goal.

Michigan edges Ferris State 3-2. TJ Hensick had the primary assist on the first Wolverines’ goal. He’s second in team scoring with 20 points in 11 games. Billy Sauer made 33 saves, increasing his record to 8-3-0. He was also named the third star of the game.

Miami beats Nebraska-Omaha 7-3. Justin Mercier scored once on four shots and added an assist. Mercier had 10 points during his freshman campaign. He has eight points in his first 13 games for the RedHawks this season.

Denver shuts out Michigan Tech 1-0. Recap

OHL

Plymouth beats Saginaw 7-3. Nigel Williams scored his first OHL goal and was plus one for the game.

Owen Sound trips up Kitchener 2-1. Victor Oreskovich was minus one.

Kingston thumps Sarnia 7-2. Chris Stewart had a goal and an assist. He also had a fight in the second period.

WHL

Seattle nips Kelowna in overtime 4-3. Chris Durand was minus one.

Tri-City edges Kamloops 5-4. Raymond Macias was minus two.

Brandon wins 6-2 over Portland. Codey Burki had a goal and an assist. He currently leads the WHL in scoring with 36 points in 24 games.

Central Hockey League

Odessa hammers Arizona 7-1. Kris Mayotte made nine saves (from 12 shots) in relief of starter Chris King.

Quinnipiac beats Cornell 5-2. Mark McCutcheon finished minus one with one shot on goal.

Dartmouth shuts out Brown 1-0. David Jones scored the lone goal and was named the game’s second star.

New Hampshire blanks UMass-Lowell 4-0. Brett Hemingway scores once on two shots and finished plus two.

Ohio State tops Bowling Green 4-1. Kevin Montgomery did not play.

Brandon over Prince Albert 3-1. Codey Burki scored once and added an assist. Burki was named the first star of the game. He's still leading the WHL in scoring by one point over Ben Maxwell.

Central Hockey League

Arizona beats Rio Grande 4-1. Kris Mayotte made 26 saves.

USHL

Ian Keserich has posted a 7-3-1-0 record for Tri-City. He has posted a GAA of 2.17 (which is second best in the league) and save percentage of .906. This past week he was named "Goalie of the Week."

Princeton and Dartmouth skate to a 3-3 tie. David Jones scored once and added an assist. He was named the first star of the game.

Miami trips up St. Lawrence 4-3. Justin Mercier had four shots on goal and was minus one.

In the College Hockey Showcase, Minnesota nips Michigan State 5-4. Ryan Stoa had one assist and finished even. Michael Carman had three shots on goal. Derek Peltier scored his first goal of the season and was minus one.

Saginaw trips up London in a shoot-out 4-3. Nigel Williams had one assist and was plus one in regulation. He missed in the shoot-out. Nigel has started his OHL career well with five points in five games.

WHL

Kamloops wins 4-3 in a shoot-out over Spokane. Raymond Macias had one assist and did not score in the shoot-out.

Brandon edges Saskatoon 2-1. Codey Burki finished even.

Clarkson doubles up Miami 4-2. Justin Mercier had one shot on goal and was minus one.

New Hampshire beats Northeastern 3-1. Brett Hemingway scored once on four shots and was plus two. His goal turned out to be the game winner and he was named the second star of the contest.

Minnesota throttles Michigan 8-2. TJ Hensick scored a short-handed goal and assisted on the other Michigan tally. Billy Sauer was busy as he faced 52 shots and made 44 saves; his record drops to 11-4-0. Ryan Stoa had five shots on goal and was plus one. Michael Carman scored two short-handed goals and was named the game’s second star. Derek Peltier had three shots on net and was plus one for the game.

Wayne State trips up Cornell 5-4. Mark McCutcheon had three shots on goal and finished even.

Denver hammers Robert Morris 6-2. Recap (I certainly hope the Avs are keeping an eye on Ryan Dingle as a free agent possibility in a couple years.)

WHL

Calgary tops Seattle 5-2. Chris Durand scores his third goal of the season.

Brandon beats Saskatoon 4-1. Codey Burki had two assists. He has 40 points in 27 games; he's the second leading scorer in the WHL.

Central Hockey League

Odessa doubles up Arizona 6-3. Michael Vernace had two assists. Kris Mayotte made 29 saves in a losing effort.

Minnesota and Minnesota State skate to a 5-5 tie. Ryan Stoa had two shots on goal and finished even. Mike Carman had one assist, one shot on goal and was minus one. Derek Peltier had one shot on goal and was minus one.

Western Michigan defeats Michigan 6-3. TJ Hensick finished with an assist and four shots on goal. Billy Sauer allowed six goals on 18 shots. His record drops to 11-5-0.

Kitchener shuts out Sault Ste. Marie 1-0. Victor Oreskovich finished even for the game. Note: Oreskovich has returned to the Rangers and is currently seeing a sports psychologist regarding his problem.

Chris Stewart has one game remaining on his suspension. Note: Stewart received a three game suspension for a spearing infraction in the Canada/Russian Selects challenge earlier this week.


WHL

Kamloops shuts out Kelowna 5-0. Raymond Macias scored once and added two assists. He was named the second star of the game.

Notre Dame throttles Michigan 7-3. TJ Hensick had three shots on goal and finished even. Billy Sauer’s struggles continue. He was pulled after the second period when he gave up five goals on 16 shots. His record falls to 11-6-0.

Saginaw beats Sault Ste. Marie 6-2. Nigel Williams finished even and was penalized for interference in the first period.

Kitchener hammers Erie 8-1. Victor Oreskovich scored once and added an assist. Newly acquired Peter Tsimikalis played on Victor's line. There is some speculation Kitchener may trade one of their overage players (and that player could be Victor...stay tuned).

Kingston pounds Toronto 6-2. Chris Stewart scored a PP goal and added an assist.

WHL

Kamloops shuts out Chilliwack 5-0. Raymond Macias scored once and added an assist. Macias has tied his point total from last season (38), in 37 fewer games.

Spokane doubles up Seattle 6-3. Chris Durand had one assist and was plus one.

Central Hockey League

Denver tops Minnesota State-Mankato 5-1. Ryan Dingle scored a natural hat trick. JD Corbin is on schedule to return in mid January and hopes to begin skating by the end of the month. Recap

Kitchener trips up Sarnia 5-4. Victor Oreskovich scored twice (one empty netter) and added an assist. It's only been two games, but that Tsimilakis/Oreskovich combo is looking very good for the Rangers.

WHL

Chilliwack shuts out Kamloops 3-0. Raymond Macias finished even.

Everett gets a 4-3 shoot-out win over Seattle. Chris Durand had one assist and finished plus two.

Swift Current beats Brandon in overtime 2-1. Codey Burki was minus two.

Notes:

Stewart and Burki will head to the Team Canada evaluation camp which gets underway tomorrow.

Kitchener beats Saginaw 5-3. Victor Oreskovich had one assist and was plus two. Nigel Williams had a power play assist and finished minus one. Tsimikalis is off to a hot start; he scored two goals and added two assists. He's recorded 12 points in four games.

Windsor thumps London 5-1. Kevin Montgomery was minus two in his OHL debut.

WHL

Kamloops tops Prince George 3-1. Raymond Macias had two assists and finished plus two.

Brandon over Regina 3-1. Codey Burki received a tripping minor, cross checking minor and a 10 minute misconduct 30 seconds into the third period.

Seattle doubles up Spokane 6-3. Chris Durand scored an emty net goal and finished plus two.

NCAA

Denver gets a gritty 4-2 win over Alaska Anchorage. Brock Trotter, Rhett Rakhshani, Ryan Dingle and Tyler Ruegsegger all scored for the Pioneers.

Central Hockey League

New Mexico edges Arizona 6-5. Ryan Steeves and Dan DaSilva each scored; DaSilva added two assists.

Prince George edges Kamloops 3-2. Raymond Macias was minus one.

Harvard holds on to beat Dartmouth 3-2. David Jones scored a beautiful power play goal, off the rush, and finished plus one for the game.

Denver shuts out Alaska-Anchorage 2-0. Brian Gifford and Tyler Ruegsegger (empty net) scored for the Pioneers. Peter Mannino made 38 saves.

Central Hockey League

Arizona beats New Mexico in overtime 4-3. David Svagrovsky scored and Michael Vernace had an assist. Kris Mayotte made 26 saves.

Ottawa tops Kingston 4-1. After a hat trick in his last game, Chris Stewart was held scoreless and was minus two.

Oshawa beats Saginaw 5-3. Nigel Williams scored a power play goal and added an assist, but he was minus two.

Sault Ste. Marie trips up Kitchener 2-1. Victor Oreskovich had the primary assist on Peter Tsimikalis' goal.

London gets a 3-2 shoot-out win over Sarnia. Kevin Montgomery finished even.

WHL

Seattle edges Everett 2-1. Chris Durand finished even.

NCAA Report – Friday, December 29, 2006

Miami trips up Bowling Green 3-2*. Justin Mercier scored once on four shots and finished plus one. After a 10 point campaign in his freshman season, Mercier now has 12 points in 21 games.

North Dakota beats Dartmouth 4-1#. David Jones scored the lone goal for Dartmouth and was named the game’s third star. Jones leads the Big Green in scoring with 17 points in 12 games.

Cornell stomps New Hampshire 5-2^. Brett Hemingway recorded two assists. The senior has 18 points in 17 games. Mark McCutcheon had one shot on goal and finished even. Mark has 10 points in 15 games.

Minnesota tops Alabama-Huntsville 3-1&. Derek Peltier had two shots on goal and finished even. Peltier only has three points in 20 games. Gophers Mike Carman and Ryan Stoa are currently participating in the World Junior Championships.

Denver shuts out Mercyhurst 3-0$. Recap

Ohio State dumps Minnesota Duluth 4-1*. Tom Fritsche returns! Fritsche had one assist, four shots on goal and finished even.

Michigan defeats Michigan Tech 4-1%. TJ Hensick had one assist, two shots on goal and was plus one. Hensick leads the NCAA with 27 assists. Billy Sauer made 27 saves increasing his record to 12-7-0.
