Ok, so funny story from here in Lalaland aka Hockey Hell.
I've been once again suckered into going to Ducks games begrudgenly again this season, and with the exception of seeing Super Joe and da Avs lose a few weeks ago (Ugh) to the Ducks, I've enjoyed myself. It still sucks being so far from Denver for games but at least I get to see alot of the league talent.

Anyway, onto the real story... Seems the wifey was at a Ducks game last week (without me!) and sat in the owners box with all the other corporate hacks there. Of course, being that she works for the owner of the freaking Ducks, I guess that is one of the perks... anyway I digress.

So she's there and Henry Samueli (Team owner) starts chatting with the wifey and she mentions that we are Avs fans. Well, as it turns out, he's feeling generous and gives her the Avalanche team media guide for 2006-07 since he said, there was very likely no chance that they would need it anymore since the Avs werent going to make the playoffs. Well, regardless enough... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Suckers! And just because he owns the damn team and pays our bills, does not mean we are giving it back WHEN the Avs make the playoffs.

Anyway, thought you guys would enjoy our little burn on the owner.

Well, I think the guy might have enough money to buy a new one ... and I assume your wife must be pretty high up the ladder if she gets to sit in the owner´s box.

Nah, she's just one of the little people in the grand scheme. We just get lucky enough to get the good hookup with tix and she gets to do the corporate thing for them once and awhile.

Needless to say, I'm hoping for a chance at revenge against the Ducks after they crushed us last playoffs.

Good for you and your better half ... I just think that it could be a little while before the Avs are back to being a powerhouse, but then I don´t really watch a whole lot hockey.

We don't have a legit #1 goalie or D i admit we are playing well though but those weaknesses will be exploited.

Carolina had neither of those things going into the playoffs last year.

I'm not saying the Avs are headed in the same direction, but I don't think it's quite as bleak as the picture you're painting.

Since we've been on this subject, I keep having flashbacks to watching Sandis Ozolinsh half-assedly attempt to chase down 106 year old Larry Murphy after Murphy stole the puck from him. Ozolinsh could skate backwards faster than Murphy could skate forward at that point in their respective careers, yet Sandis didn't seem to find it necessary to actually go full throttle. Murphy scored on the breakaway.

That's where Ozo officially lost me and that was before he was called out by Adam Foote for no showing game 7 of the 2000 Western Conference Finals.

my total loss of respect for a player anecdote:

Jagr showing his true self faking a shoulder injury weeks before being traded for a 10# bag of potatoes, 3 valets and a half gallon of housepaint.

The battle for 2nd team All-Star center is heating up. Crosby pretty much has the 1st team spot sewn up, but there's a battle going on between Lecavalier & Thornton for that 2nd spot. Joe Sakic is the darkhorse in that race, he's got 10 points in his last 4 games.

The oil simply were not able to exploit it also the canes were blessed with 4 killer offensive lines to offset average D and goaltending, you won't see teams win the cup like that very often. But i will say if the avs would have had even average goaltending during the season we would already have a seed in the playoffs.

Our offense has been pretty good this season IMO currently 5th in goals scored roughly 3.27 goals per game they were able to keep up with other high powered teams but keeping leads is what killed us and that was Defensive/goaltending issues most of the time. And to show the other end we were 20th in goals against with 3.04 per game (the numbers don't lie). If we were to make the playoffs i would hope Q would give budaj the start theo has earned absolutely nothing IMO.

Default Bertuzzi expected to make his Red Wings debut

The knuckledragger hits the ice and we get to see if the loser has anything left to offer.

DETROIT (AP) -Left wing Todd Bertuzzi took part in the morning skate and said he was ready to make his debut with the Detroit Red Wings in Thursday night's game against Columbus.

Bertuzzi, acquired from Florida at the trade deadline, said his surgically repaired back feels fine and he is in game shape.

"I'm just going to go out there and try to find my way early," Bertuzzi said. "Obviously you don't want to be a hazard out there, but I think that we worked hard enough where I can go out and play my game. So I'm very confident in that."

The 32-year-old Bertuzzi has been sidelined since October because of a back injury. He has played only seven games this season, with one goal and six assists.

"It's fun to be part of a team again," Bertuzzi said.

Haha. I saw that clip last night. He dropped! I guess it's the second time this year he's been dropped in a fight like that? Sheesh, big goon there.

Joe Thornton needs to get "the flu" like.....now.

This is getting ridiculous. He had 3 points last night and already has 3 points in today's game. Im getting furious.
