7-2. First goal of the year for the Recchin Ball. Staal did a great job setting all that up. Malkin with an assist as well. 3 point night for Evgeni. 2 assists for young Jordan.

Dominic Moore from John LeClair, nice 2 on 1 play.

8-2, Pittsburgh.

Sweet. Keep taking it to the Flyers.

Game over, 8-2. That's our 4th straight win. For the time being, we are back in first in the Atlantic, hopefully Columbus beats the Devils.

I'll be at the game on Wednesday at the Staples Center against the Kings.

Nittimaki started the game and then got pulled when he let in 4 goals on something like his first 9 shots, Esche came in and let it another 4 on about 20 shots or so.

Hmm. Well at least they didn't leave one in there like they did the last time. That was just merciless.

Jordan Staal has been informed that he will not be sent back to Peterborough.

So this year will count against his RFA status, however the Pens will have another decision to make at the 40 game mark, as if he plays more than 40, the year will count towards his UFA status.

I'd keep him on all year...Though, personally, I'd try to trade him for a winger or a D-man.

They aren't going to trade him....at least not in the next couple of years. He's our best defensive forward and one of our best PKers. He's getting better on offense too. He has good hockey sense and a great build and reach. Shero loves him, he could have had Jack Johnson for him but didnt go for it.

Eventually though, if Staal continues to get better, we will have to trade him as we can't pay everyone. If Fleury keeps developing and playing like an elite goaltender, they are going to pay him, ofcourse the same for Crosby and Malkin. Staal eventually is going to be dealt....just not for awhile.

The pens if the play it right, would have to decide.

But i think they will be able to keep 3 "top" guys.

Well, if we're being totally honest, I would've drafted Phil Kessel in that posistion.
