One of the biggest keys to the game tonight is going to be the crowd noise. Considering the weather is not going to be picture perfect, the fans must dress appropriately and scream their heads off.
Last year, the Broncos-Redskins game was not as raucous as it could have been because everyoone was cold and wet and went "inside" the stadium. If tonight's matchup will have the same weather implications as the Redskins game, then our home field advantage will be driven by the fans. Make some noise, Mile High!! Go Broncos!! |

At least this weather is will known before the game. I will say rain is the worst and drives the most people away. Hopefully it turns to snow by gametime. That will actually be better for keeping people in their seats.

Last year on MNF, it was freakin deafening. If we get up to an early lead, it should be tonight also.
Last year, they tried to script the "live opener" for MNF where fans were supposed to go around the stadium twice with the wave, then they would hold up cards displaying a Bronco behind the visitors side. Instead, when "The Rock" came out, I think all I heard was "ARE YOU....." and the place exploded for ten minutes. It was crazy, I'll miss it tonight. |

But I thought the crowd sucked at New Mile High. You must be confused.
I think that it took a couple years for the fans to settle in and kinda..."break the stadium in..." but I haven't been to Invesco. Old Mile High would shake so bad I actually went and checked for broken bolts. It never gave up, but there were cracks and chips around concrete on the main members. Rust covered up with paint everywhere on the main load bearing bolts. No wonder it shook. We could get those home stands to the west moving an inch up and down. New Mile High will start to loosen up a bit, nothing like Bears Stadium tho. (The name of the stadium before the Broncos) Last edited by watermock; 10-09-2006 at 10:37 AM.. |

I think it was that game more than any other that sealed her fate as a life-time Bronco fan. It was truly miserable weather, and rain is about 1000 times worse than snow. |

Kind of ironic that the miserable rain game last year vs. Washington was on October 9th. I am going to be much better prepared to sit in the cold rain conditions tonight than I was last year. I hope this rain turns to snow as it gets dark.

Just got some tickets to the game. Club level, but I'm still trying to figure out whether they're covered. My brother, who sat in them before, says "I think so." I asked him how many times "I think so" has ever kept anyone warm and dry. This is important, because I need to figure out whether to get ponchos, etc., or whether I can just roll in my warm-but-not-quite-waterproof gear; videlicet North Face with Broncos windshirt over the top. That's what I wore to the AFC Championship game last year, and when I pulled the windshirt out, it had the self-same items I left in the pockets after the game; videlicet my gloves and Broncos thug-style stocking cap. That was kind of sad this morning, pulling out those items and being drawn back in time, instantly, to that debacle. It was kind of like putting on your best suit and finding your grandmother's funeral program in the pocket.
Anyhoo, the seats are probably covered, and I'm told there are fireplaces inside. So you might hear me making a lot of "crowd noise" laughing at all the poor saps getting rained on. |
