Default Harrington to start in Miami?

As a R Brown owner I hope so. At least he can check down.

http://fflivewire.com/Article.asp?ID=1052006gey3514ez

Dolphins quarterback Daunte Culpepper didn't take any snaps with the first-team offense during Thursday's practice, WQAM radio has reported.

Joey Harrington worked with the starters while Culpepper, who was dressed in pads, watched the session, the station reported.

Culpepper was added to the Dolphins injury report Thursday because of a right shoulder ailment and the team has acknowledged he didn't participate in at least a portion of practice. Culpepper is listed as probable for Sunday's game at New England.

Possibly. Daunte has struggled a lot this year already just like Warner has for the Cardinals.

A lot of people in the media seem to forget that Culpepper was pretty bad last year before the injury and are now shocked at what is going on so far this season.

Why not give Harrington a shot. They're 1-3. Culpepper can't put points on the board.

Hmmm.....Moss unhappy on the left.....Culpepper unhappy (presumably) on the right.....

Maybe they were more "Peaches & Herb" than they realized.

I'm glad that assclown Culpepper finally got exposed. Good call passing on Brees, dolphins.

Meanwhile, Drew is clicking along with a 3-1 team and a QB rating of 92.8.

Culpepper getting hurt last year was the best thing that could have happened to him. If he would have finished out the year at the pace he was going, not even the faids would have signed him. Well, maybe the faids, but only them. I hope he has fun backing up Vince Young or whoever next year.

Let me ask you somehing. If you could trade for Plummer for Brees, would you do it? I mean like a straight trade, or a simple swap. No strings whatsoever. You just a little high for him, which is unusual.

I don't think he's finished necessarily. His lack of confidence in his knee is apparent. I know he had a crappy stretch of football before he was injured, but I'm not convinced that was an irreversible downward trend.

I'll say this, nothing could possibly increase Duante's popularity more than the insertion of Harrington into the lineup.

Obviously, that would be pointless with Cutler on the roster, but for the sake of argument, let's say he wasn't. I would definitely take Brees over Plummer. I would have loved to get Drew right out of college and see how he would have developed under Shanahan and Kubiak.

If Brees plays that Ravens game they win going away. That's the other thing I noticed from watching them. Brees throws one of the most accurate slants in the NFL and Rivers missed Jackson on one that would have been a TD (by his own admission) to ice the game.

Culpepper's timing is off.

He waits, waits, and waits some more behind a bad line. That equation always equals sacks + interceptions + fumbles. His mobility is gone, and he forces throws in the red zone.

Culpepper has a long way to go. He might be done.

Maybe. But after what happened last year with all those close games, I'm not so sure. Granted, it was all Rivers's fault on that play as well as the interception pass. But when you only throw 4 passes in the entire second half until the last drive, you're going to to lose your rhythm somewhat.
Oh and another thing, correct me if I'm wrong, but a slant requires a three step drop or less to hit, which means that you have to usually do it near the LOS. Brees' height actually prohibited him from throwing the slant.

Its funny. Chargers fans say Brees doesn't have the arm to throw deep and he doesn't have the height to throw short. Somehow he just wins football games.

He seriously just tried to argue that.

Xenos, I can appreciate you defending Rivers, but why do you insist on puting down Brees? He's on a new team in a new system and is playing better than the likes of Culpepper and McNair who are in better circumstances. Why can't you admit the kid is a good player?

Culpepper's knee is clearly not ready. His balance is off. It is going to take a 265 pound man longer to heal from the injury he had.

When his knee is healed he will be back. I just hope it is not with the Raisders next year.

I would say it is more his balance, if he is forced to "reset/move" his feet he can't recapture his balance.

He had a pretty good game last week:
D. Culpepper 23/39 249 1 0

Brees is pretty good, but he's the sort of guy who needs a lot of talent around him. I'm not sure he'd have been as good the last couple of seasons in Denver with the medicore skill players we've had. It's a big drop off from LT/Gates/McCardell to Anderson/Putzier/Smith (aggregately speaking).

I think Rivers will be the better player in the long run. He's only had 3 starts. His football instincts are off the charts (or, they were in college...I think will see the same in the pros).
