This is hilarious. "Coach Manning" has employed this tactic for years in an attempt to catch the other team with 12 men on the field or just making hard for them to substitute.
Now that someone did it better the whining from Indy begins...... You can be sure they'll see more no huddle now. ![]() http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dl...610020364/1100 No huddle a problem Was there ever an offensive huddle at the Meadowlands on Sunday? Each defense was kept on its toes as Peyton Manning and Pennington ran no-huddle offensive attacks. Pennington ran his at a quicker pace, and made it hard for the Colts to substitute. On one occasion, cornerback Kelvin Hayden seemed to feign an injury to stop the clock and the Jets. He limped off for one play, then returned. After the game, Dungy clearly was irritated by how the Jets were allowed to run their no-huddle. "We've got some bad rules that either I don't understand or. . . ,'' he said without finishing his thought. "We've been running the no-huddle for a long time and we've been informed of the rules. I guess I've done a bad job of understanding what they are. We'll leave it at that.'' |

What is his complaint, exactly? Did he think they were starting plays before the ball was set?

You have got to be kidding! He should have kept his mouth shut. That's just ridiculous.
I have so lost respect for that franchise over the past three or four years. |

The Broncos should employ no huddles more often if you ask me. Catching teams off balance/gassed after a pass play with a Tatum run would be a real game breaker.

It's a good thing he stopped in mid sentence otherwise he would have let the cat out of the bag.
"We've got some bad rules that either I don't understand or......The NFL backed out of our contract of only allowing Peymeaton to run the no huddle the way we run it." "It's a shame to see a team do it to us right in front of the NFL no less." ![]() |

...or else we'd also have to hear Bumgy whining about how there HAD to be an illegal block or something on a play of that manner. This after the Colts line held the sh*t out of the Jets line all game long.
By the way Bronx33, who is that in your avatar? She has seriously decreased the bloodflow to my brain. Last edited by TerrElway; 10-03-2006 at 02:08 PM.. Reason: not done! |

I mean they could still do it and I'm sure Plummer could be faily good with it, but I just don't see Shanny trusting Jake that much. |

Still doesn't compare to Brady pulling a b**** ass move by hurrying to the line and kneeling on third down to catch us with 12 men on the field. In my opinion, that kind of cheap play has no room in football.

Indianapolis is the team I most despise outside the AFC West and this incident certainly doesn't help things...

Gee whiz, I didn't know that the no huddle was the property of Peyton Manning. Just because Pennington didn't wave his hands around and stomp his foot doesn't mean he did anything illegal. Not everyone has to posture like a monkey at the LOS Peyton. One of the most rediculous things I have ever read. The most amusing thing his how the team eeked out a win and is 4=0. How do you whine? Earth to Lord Manning...there are things called rules. They are not just made for you. Last edited by watermock; 10-03-2006 at 02:30 PM.. |

I'd like more specifics on this. The article doesn't spell out the exact nature of his complaint. It's highly unlikely that he was complaining about the no-huddle itself, but rather the way NY was allowed to operate it. Maybe he has point, maybe he doesn't, but we need more specifics.

What's next? Alex Gibbs complaining about cut blocking? Steve Spurrier whining about teams running up the score?

Your QB has to have a brain in his head to run the no huddle with success, I just do not think Jake is smart enough to make it work.

This is almost unbelivable. Peyton...you don'tneed to stop around and wave around like a traffic cop. That isn't required. You can to up to the LOS and snap the ball once the offence is set. It's not essential that you act like a headless turkey. Notice how the moron can't give anything that was illegal. It's pathetic. |
