Pryce's philosophy: Silence is golden
By Anthony Cotton Denver Post Staff Writer The Ravens' Trevor Pryce, top, joins teammate Ray Lewis in driving Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson backward during Baltimore's win Sunday. (Getty Images / Jamie Squire) Baltimore - After the Baltimore Ravens' unlikely 16-13 victory Sunday over San Diego, Trevor Pryce waxed philosophically about, among other things, winning ugly and his contributions to helping a defense-oriented team become more inclusive of its offensive brethren. There was only one topic the defensive end refused to entertain - next Monday's game at Invesco Field at Mile High against the Broncos. "I'm not talking about that at all, absolutely not," Pryce said. In his first season in Baltimore, after nine seasons with the Broncos, Pryce said his refusal to look forward to renewing acquaintances was his way of striking the first blow in what will be a massive amount of pregame buildup. "They'll be more concerned if I don't say anything," Pryce said of the Broncos. "If I say something, they'll know I'm thinking about them. That would be playing right into their hands. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Advertisement -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This way, they'll be going, 'Wait a minute, where's Trevor?"' Pryce had two tackles Sunday. For the season, the 31-year-old has 13 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks. However reluctant, Pryce might have unwittingly provided the Broncos with at least a smidgen of bulletin board material in discussing his admiration for the Chargers. "That team's going to win the AFC West this season," he said of San Diego. "They're a fantastic, fast football team." http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_4428102

I always thought that Pryce was misused in Denver. Hopefully that wont come back to bite us in the rear.
He was basically counted on to hold gaps while he was with the Broncos. That's great and all, but Pryce could have been much more, IMO. |

Trevor might be salivating over the prospect of seeing George Foster, Carslile, or even Lepsis up front next week. Our line has been terrible in pass blocking. Pryce could pull off a couple of big plays.

Our Line played much better vs ne England in Pass Protection... Hopefully they will play good against the ratbirds...
Prcye is the same player in Baltimore like in Denver. The only difference is he has better players around him (at the D-Line..) I think Who you want to double Team on Passing Downs ?T.Suggs or T.Prcye He is a role player. 30 Millons for a role Player?`No thanks. |

This is the classic double-speak that made Pryce famous here.

Yep, he's not talking. What an a-hole. Why is he being quoted then? Thanks for the bullitin board fodder dumbass. http://www.pennlive.com/sports/patri...800.xml&coll=1 If they were a "FANTASTIC TEAM" Baltimore would of lost, right? |

A "Fantastic" team doesn't win with 16 points at home. Try again. Next Question.
I don't think I have heard the term "fantastic team" once in this forum. We are struggling to get into synch. Getting Marshall and Sapp back might help but we are struggling mightily. Last edited by watermock; 10-02-2006 at 03:07 AM.. |

It really depends on if Pryce chooses to be awake for the game next week.

Ok here it goes. This is just how I feel about being a Broncos fan. I pull for the uniform. I do have some appreciation for previous players but when they no longer don the Orange and Blue they no longer matter to me. In fact it swings the other way and they become the enemy. Pryce is no longer friend of the Broncos he is the flat out enemy and can be hated just like any other. Heres to some nice ankle spraining (the sprain instead of break was for DOMCASUAL because I'm trying to get him to like me) cutblocks that send Pryce crying home to mom!!!!!!! Can you say ironic? because your old team cutting you damn legs off would be just that. Unfortunalty our old dend killing our QB would also be ironic. Heres to Pryce being the one left wondering about fate and destiny, and why it included the Broncos kicking the crap out of him and making him retire.

We have a history of coming out flat after the bye, and we haven't gotten out of the gate fast all year yet. Remember the glory days when we would rack up 17 points in the first quarter, not all game? Or even the 6 points against the reborn defense of KC.

Pryce is the least of our worries. He's down the list as far as guys we have to account for, IMO.
1. Reed 2. Suggs 3. Ray Ray 4. Scott 5. McAllister 6. Pryce |

I'm not down on Carlisle, or even Foster, in the run game, but I'd be more confident of the game if Neil were still up to playing. That guy was one mean sob.

The rat's been in the NFL for over two decades. You'd think he'd understand the proper way to "use" his players by now. He does have a pretty good record though, so he must only not know how to use certain players. He clearly knows how to use some. Anyone think he'll ever figure out how to use them all correctly? |

I'll tell you what big guy, Foster can cover a whole multitude of Sins if he beats the crap out of Pryce on Monday night. If he can not rise to the occasion against that POS, then I want to trade him. Pryce used to call him out all the time in practice and off the field. If Foster can not get motivated to play Pryce, he never will be.
