Default Javon on Jim Rome show...

Javon is on the Rome show right now... I tried to transcribe the interview, but I've got Z right now, and he's crying his head off...

So far, they're talking about what everybody here is really interested in: Terrell Owens.

Ugh... It was a terrible interview... We got about 1 minute of Javon talking about the Broncos, and 4 minutes of Javon talking about Terrell owens.

Basically, the gist of the interesting part of the interview had to do with Javon feeling that his rehabbed knee feels stronger than it ever has due to the nature of rehab. He feels like it's stronger than his non-rehab knee, and that he's even faster than he was before.

He and Jake aren't exactly on the same page yet, but he feels like they're getting there. He tells Jake to go ahead and put the ball out there and he'll do everything he can to make the catch, or make certain the defender *doesn't* make the catch.

The players only meeting was about everybody taking responsibility for themselves and taking care of business.

The rest was about TO.

He almost got fetched on that TD from the Corner on the far side though. I wonder how fast he is.

When was the players only meeting?

Zachary!!! Gotcha. Cool choice.

That's the only thing that worries me......how fast is Javon...REALLY?

I mean, 13 year vet Rodney Harrison with the rebuilt knee almost caught him at the end of that long TD play......

Do not worry about his speed. He had to stop to make the catch, juke twice, then accelerate to top speed again. The guys chasing him were already going full tilt the moment plummer released the ball. Physics 101 is now over.

Good thing, Mediator......cause if Javon can't out run the old man, Rodney Harrison.....then the list of guys who he COULD outrun would have to be pretty short.

Good point, and let's not forget to mention that Rodney had the angle and Javon was running at an angle, not straight ahead, plus, guys run faster when they don't have to worry about running with and protecting the ball. Javon's speed is no concern. I'm more worried about the guy throwing the ball and whether he can give him catchable balls on a regular basis

No Kidding, are we really concerned about the speed of a player who scored on an 84 yards pass where 50 of the yards were after the catch.

If I recall correctly, Champ was caught just before the endzone by a tight end, are we concerned about his speed too?

Looking back at the replay, Javon is carrying the ball with one hand like the preverbial loaf of bread. Protect that piggy JW!

Javon is not slow by any stretch.

AGILITY TESTS
4.38 in the 40-yard dash … 2.54 20-yard dash … 1.53 10-yard dash … 4.05 20-yard shuttle … 6.86 three-cone drill … 39.5-inch vertical jump … 10'6" broad jump … 32 1/2-inch arm length … 9 3/4-inch hands … Right-handed.

AND

Wide receivers
Because of individual passing drills between receivers and quarterbacks, neither group performs the bench-press test. In this most athletically gifted group, 40-times ranged from 4.34 to 4.76, with Auburn WR Tim Carter being at the low end of the spectrum and Jackson State WR Thomas Taylor at the other. In Taylor’s defense, he was the biggest wide receiver (6-3 3/4, 219) to run at the Combine. Kansas State WR Aaron Lockett also ran a 4.35, but his diminutive size (5-7 3/8, 155) may discourage some suitors. Florida State WR Javon Walker was the only other receiver to run under a 4.4 electronically. Florida WR Reche Caldwell showed his explosiveness in the vertical jump with a mark of 41 1/2 inches. Notre Dame WRs Javin Hunter (41) and David Givens (40 1/2) also surpassed the 40-inch barrier. Caldwell turned some heads again when he broad-jumped 10 feet 10 inches — the best broad jump recorded at the Combine. The best 20-yard pro shuttle belonged to Louisville’s Deion Branch, who zipped through the drill in 3.76 seconds. Branch also led all wideouts in the 60-yard shuttle, which measures crispness in changing direction over an extended length, recording a time of 10.66. Michigan State WR Herb Haygood and Richmond WR Ryan Tolhurst opened some eyes when they posted times of 6.65 in the three-cone drill.

Running with a ball slows guys up anyway. Messes with the natural running motion.

I'm not calling him slow, but he did get walked. (track term)

I'm not concerned. I never expected him to run past DB's like Ashley did. He probably runs a 4.45 or something.

I don't know what walked is, but traditionally the corners are the fastest guys on the team, if they get on your hip and you still get to the ball first, then you are FAST.

I still say Javon needs a nickname. Since he's so fluid in and out of his breaks, I nominate "Smooth."

Give him a "hip" name, like J-Walk.

I could care less, he's already proven more worth than Lelie has. As long as he is catching the bombs than im fine with his speed.

EXACTLY.

When that play happend, I jumped off the couch... But then at around the 10 yard line, I just stopped and said "****, he's going to fumble..." Luckily he didn't, but I almost had a heart attack.
