Plummer always starts slowly
In 2003 Jake was 2-0 in his first two games, but was only 21-38 for 209 yards and 3 TDs and 3 Ints. He ended up with 15 Tds and 7 Ints, as he went 9-2 as a starter to make the playoffs
In 2004 Jake was 1-1 in his first two, and was 41-68 for 480 yards and 2 Tds with 2 Ints (including the famous lefty one). He ended up with 27 Tds and 21 Ints, again making the playoffs.
In 2005 Jake was 1-1 in his first two games again, and was 55-85 for 499 yards and 1 Td with 3 Ints. He finished with 18 Tds and only 7 ints, leading us to the AFC championship game.
This year, Jake is 1-1, and is 29-56 for 304 yards and 0 Tds and 4 Ints. Who knows what will happen?
Obivously, Jake has started worse this season than in others. But the point is, he has rebounded before from crappy starts. Hopefully we will be laughing in a few months about all of this "bench plummer" crap.
