Default Who gets the blame....

I will tell you who needs to get the blame so far for our subpar first 2 games, its the coaches.

Yeah Plummer sucks at deep throws and decision making. Teams have found that and are exploiting it for all is worth. They are snuffing the run and making us turn to passing. We all know how that goes in Denver right now. Cutler won't be much better either. Our O-line cannot pass block to save their lives. Our coaches haven't adjusted they are trying to pound a square peg into a round hole just aint going to happen. Our coaches have failed to adjust to this for 3 meaningful games now. Until they adjust we are going to be mediocre and Jake will be out of his elements.

I just don't want to hear all the Cutler talk. I want to hear that our Coaches are making some changes to the game plan and our Running game is going to get more productive.

You realize that Denver sucked the first two games last year and ended up 13-3 right

Please don't overreact. Denver will be just fine and they are going to beat the Pats next week!!!!

They cost us 6 points, then put up 9 points. Blame those two.

I'm not that is the point. I don't blame Jake I blame our play calling so far and our lack of naming a running back. I just don't want to hear its time for cutler. I think we will be fine I just wanted to point out other faults as I was sure we were going to get the usual Cutler talk.

No that is a good point. But its one of those wins you just feel uneasy about. Our Defence kept us in this plain and simple. Offence just did enough but there was some eggs laid out there today. Like calling same plays back to back numerous times and running into walls. They got the luck of the coin toss today, I thought we would at least score a couple of TDs. We won, great! But if this FG crap keeps happening winning won't be something we see too often.

as long as we out score the other team ...... Big problem was letting KC have long drives ......But the game was _this close to being a 16-6 game ....alot of our woes will go away once we quit the RBBC ........

Default Nuh uh.

I disagree totally. I think you have to hand it to Shanahan and the coaching staff for sticking with the run. We were limited all game long because that was KC's game plan. But we kept with it, put together some long drives, and when we needed it, Tatum Bell got that long run in OT to give us great position for a winning FG drive.

We give up on the run in this game and we get blown out. Well coached game.

We started off doing that stupid 3 step drop pocket passing crap that we all shudder to think about. They started to run the ball in the second half and started using those toss plays that run down hill. Then we would go back to other crap. We didn't commit to the run out of the box, thats bad coaching. Just my opinion.

The coaches deserve credit for taking the ball out of Plummers hands as much as they could with him in there.

It's not our coaches fault that Plummer is as dumb as a box of rocks, and has an even worse arm. We've mastered the art of winning despite our QB play, and along with 80,000 faithful, I look forward to the day when we can win with help from our QB.

Good post. It wasn't prety, but it's a victory. Denver's D is going to be great and their offense will get better and better.

The season is all about next week.

If the coaches were so great then why the hell haven't we scored a TD in two games against teams that were supposed to be down and out. Why are still using this RBBC, why are we using Plummer like a drop back passer. To say the coaching is great is a joke. They made the adjustment and went back to what worked and it was enough. But the coaching was far from great!

I want to clarify something. I am extatic we won that is all that matters. The point of this post was to point out that the Coaches aren't setting up Plummer to succede they are putting him in situations that aren't suited for him. That is why I blame the coaches, they can adjust and people have pointed out that they might have just done that after the 1st half. I am not trying to dog on them I just want Plummer to be used for his positive aspects rather than his negative.

It really is amazing. I just hope this board is not representational of the real fans out there. Very depressing if it is.

It's one thing to have doubts about the performance, but to get no enjoyment out of beating a division rival?

Why bother watching?

We won this week... and despite our horrible play, I think if the refs don't give the Lambs that roughing the punter gimmie, we would have won last week. (Yes, I know Jake and a bunch of other people played very badly.)
I just think we had the momentum coming our way before that penalty.

We could easily be 2-0. We're 1-1, despite needing to iron out a bunch of things.

Can't enjoy it a little?

Oh well. We had a great time, here. Big celebration with the wife and kids after the win.

I think we may have to credit the OL for finally doing there job for the RB they played 1 out of 4 quarters today totally crappy job zone blocking today.

Yeah wooohoooo we won a game after scoring a FG when the team had 2 red zone chances that were totally blown. Yeah it is greatness, lets all go celebrate You know you can pass a test with a D but do you really fell good about it, no. They passed a test and won agianst a rival, yeah that is good. But have you looked at the schedule, they are about to go up against teams that are superior. Where we are supposed to be and can still get to but if they don't its going to be a long season.

Popps, I think, as sad as this is, the main reason there is so much anguish over a win is that we won and Plummer didn't play great. If we had lost, then the Plummer hating patrol would be orgasmic. It would be "See, we lost at home to KC, this is the last straw, Plummer should be mutilated in downtown Denver". If Plummer was 23-30 for 4 TDs and no picks, then there would be nothing but happiness. But, the fact that plummer was mediocre, and engineered a 4th quarter drive to tie and then an OT drive to win, well that just pisses the Culter crowd off.

I'm guessing a few of the biggest plummer haters are angry that we won in OT. They would have been happier if he threw a pick-6 in OT. It's weird. To me, any time we beat KC, that's a good day. Even if our qb is 0-15 with 3 pick-6's and we win 24-21, I'll take it. KC has a pretty good defense, and we played shiitty and still won. I like it.

But this particular outcome is galling to plummer haters, and that's why this board seems to be reacting like we lost.

You mean situations like passing the ball? The coaching staff went out of there way to make sure he did as little of that as possible.

16/30 173yards 0 TD's 1 INT 5.8 yrds per pass and a 56.7 QB rating

you know something is wrong when a players puts up stats like that and no one wants to "blame" the QB

No we didn't suck after this point last year. The second half of game 2 was when the defense came alive and Champ picked off the Breeze pass and took it to the house. Our defense totally shut down Tomlinson and it set the tone for game 2 when we stomped KC in Denver. That KC game was key to the season and propelled us to 13-3. This is why I suggest that next week is key...you have to get a push early or you get lost in the pack. SD shows no signs of slowing down, so we have to maintain the pace and a 1-3 start would be disasterous.

No that is my point Plummer can do good things passing but dropping back and making multiple reads is not his strength. I think its funny that people can just bash Plummer and people are all on board. The minute someone questions the play calling and coaching in a game they could have easily lost people get upset. You can route for a team and be unhappy with a win that could have easily become a loss.

To bash someone and insinuate that they are a fair weather fan for questioning stuff thats a joke.

I'd rather win 6-9 than 30-32. The offense is always behind at this point in the season. The defense is reason enough to celebrate, but I like to celebrate a coaching staff that pulled a win out with a offense that is still adjusting to so many new players.
