Default Separation Saturday/Sunday

Many say that teams make their most improvement from week one to week two, particuliarly in college. I didn't hear the stat exactly in the college ranks, but this is an almost unprecidented amount of ranked or contending teams matching up today.

I think altho it's early, it's rare for a 0-2 pro team to get playoffs. The rubber meets the road this week. I consider this a must win, not just because it's a home divisional game, but the Boobster will yap about it all season and if Jake lays another turd all hell is going to break loose.

I completely expected the media to stir up a QB controversy...I didn't expect Jake to hand it to them on a silver platter in week one. Jake apologists need to look at some of those throws.

I expected the controversy being generated by the media. That's just money in the bank for them. What I didn't expect was that so many of the fans of this team would be so easily manipulated. I'm just amazed that so many folks here are eager to abandon a key element of this team that went 13-3 last season.

I'll keep screaming from the rooftops at no one in particular that this QB controversy is premature, even though I know I'm wasting my breath.

Look, I know that Jake isn't helping his own cause. I know it's his job to keep everything on track until the kid is ready. Ideally, he'll get a ring along the way. At the very minimum, he'll be expected to match his performance from last season.

This week is crucial. I hope like hell he plays up to his ability.

Shannan will play the quarterback that gives him the best chance to win.

Bailey us out Champ. That's why your making the big bucks. There is one way and one way only to put the Rocket Man back in the staging building...play well and get a W.

Believe me, I want nothing more than Jake to keep the Rocketeer holding the clipboard this year. Holy Hell is going to break loose around here otherwise. You think last week was bad Jake? If someone doesn't save us from Bobo, we are going to have to listen to his inane gibberish for months.

If Jake doesn't start seeing, Grasshoppa will snatch the pebble from his hand before he knows it.

Wow, Iowa St. is giving Iowa everything they can handle. For whatever reason, they have Iowa's number. Ames is closer but the kittens go to Iowa usually.

It's a typical barn burner, with Iowa St. pulling upsets four of the last 6 meetings.

Shannahan will start Cutler the week after he determines he cannot win this year's superbowl with Jake under center.

Mock, i came on here expecting that this game had its own thread already!

Or maybe you started this thread as a disguise for a college thread that otherwise would have went to the off-topic forum.

Anyway, I'm definitly getting the feed out here in San Diego. Being a Badger fan, i'm hoping Iowa loses. They just went down 14-3, although i think ISU is playing very cheaply with all of their QB runs. Tate hasn't impressed me so far.... how do you miss a 6'7'' tight end??

I agree. Denver should come out and play well. They'll shut down KC's offense put lots of pressure on KC's defense to keep them into the game. The Chef defense will play well but fold in the 3rd Quarter and Denver wins 27-13

Well, Tate missed a wide open reciever and got lucky with a Joe very vicious type reception that was sick. It's always a knifefight between the two in a phone booth. Notice the dry corn. The anouncers doen't even notice it.

Tate is coming off injury so cut him a little slack. I never said he would be a starter in the NFL. This is also Iowa St's super bowl.

I don't know if they have a giant pig or bull or what at stake. There is a pig at stake when they play the Golphers.

Definitely a must win game. Losing this game and then going to NE next week could put us 0-3. Though, I don't see this happening. Right now, an early bye week will actually help us out.

Tate is getting his act together now for Iowa. It's pro related because I think he would be an optimal backup.

The thread is open to pro as well, per my original post.

So how does an early bye help us at 0-3? Okay..we get an extra week to prepare for the loss to B-more? Although he has usually won after bye weeks ( probably because of the extra time to game plan) shannys teams have always come out FLAT after the bye.

If we are 0-2,0-3 or (please NOOOOOO!) 0-4 then we will really see what kind of QB Jake is....The more we lose, the more he will press to try and win.

Losing THIS week should be MORE than enough to shake things up on the team. At home to the CHIEFS....BLECCCHH!

We're 13-4 after a bye week. At 13-4, they can come at a flat as they want. They were still better than the other team. I do understand your point, however. I'm just saying an early bye week will hopefully help us get our s--t together.

The thread wasn't hijacked at all. It was separation Saturday/Sunday. It's open to all games. Now I'm watching Oregon upset OK.

Oregon's doink FG was amusing. Iowa had a doink that went thru off the upright.
