When will you folks realize that all politicians are scumbags?

Well, Frist has certainly proven himself to be a slimeball time and time again (Schiavo, for example). I take it on a case by case basis, but you're right, the overwhelming majority are sleazeballs.

If all politicians are scumbags then it could be reasonably inferred that a prevalent trait they all share is the ability to tell lies -- without a conscience -- to the American public. So why should we everbelieve what they tell us? They are, after all, scumbags you know.

Well wags, what can we do besides hangin's & tar & featherin's.

It's pretty evident our votes don't count.... and well i believe somewhere in the bill of rights/constitution - it's told we can remove the gov't if need be.

I'd hate to use force, i'd rather use say a podcast - but it seems the more you threaten the establishment the more you become a target for those in power -

i mean why or how can i believe anything they say from their policies to their damn reports on what happened on some days.

Get involved. Use the political process - it still works enough.

As if voting every couple of years is the extent of your citizenship.

If you don't like the dollars involved, propose a political finance reform idea that will actually work.

Depends on which 'good american' i am. If i'm a good american for the status quo - i do my part there.

If it's a good american to reduce the tyranny of statist control - i can only inject ideas into those around me to spread what liberty and democracy really are. Beyond that wags, i can only do what i can do. That is use my talents to bring about initiated change into those who welcome it.

Of course, there’s also the naked hypocrisy of exempting state lotteries

It is amazing how when the state is the primary recipient of the proceeds, all the legality problems wash away. I bet Frist wouldnt be against this if we were using our credit cards to buy lottery tickets (they would probably have to be fed lottery tickets thou as state lottos dont give him any $$$) or if the casino was owned by Uncle Sam.

Wasnt it Caligula that funded the Roman debt by hosting a giant orgy? I bet prostitution would no longer be a vice if the Govt was the pimp.

Was Bill Clinton, George Sr., or Ronald Reagan better than this nut? I think not. I cannot remember the last president that didn't sell this country out to some corporation or illogical ideal. The fool in office isn't the first figurehead to sell fear to his constituents to stay in power. The citizens of this country have been terrified of the "boogie man" since Truman...probably before that too.

From Hitler to Stalin to Osama...same trick, works every ****ing time. You think people would catch on by now. Obviously not.
