Default Right Decision?

John Abraham 5 tackles 2 sacks...
Jay Cutler 0 Passes 0 Yards, 0 rushs 0 Yards...

I love the Jay Cutler pick up and im realy excited to see him in our offense but it looks to me like the Broncos sacraficed a realy good oppurtunity to make an undisputed run this year for the feauture. Would you guys have rather had an amazing D this season that could have carried our offense into the playoffs and nuetralize Jakes mistakes or a hope for the feauture that one day Cutler will lead the blazing broncos with his golden arm?

I'll take Cutter and his 10 to 15 year of leading the bronco's at the most dificult position to find QB.

You dont think we would have been better off to make a run this season then try to get our QB of the feauture...

We've been looking for our QB of the future ever since Good King John left. You may have noticed they're not easy to find...

A couple of things:

How in the world would Abraham have helped win this game? The defense was dominant, and we still lost, for obvious reasons. The only way Abraham could have helped is if they had stuck him in at qb.

Wait til we trade Plummer in a deal that gets us a big time end, or in position to draft one. Then we have the qb and the pass rusher, instead of just abraham.

We could've easily had both...

St. Louis wanted a corner...there would've been one available at 22 as well.

Shanny didn't want to pay Abraham...it's that simple.

The game I watched today had a Bronco D playing lights out with what was given to them by Jake. I like our future even if we have to take a step back this year. Sometimes you have to sacrifice a season to make a dynasty.

There were times when a stronger pass rush could have helped our D-line was good but not dominent...could you imagine if we had Little rushing the passer for us how in-effective the Rams offense would have been with our DBs and our linebackers. The thing is with a better pass rush our defense can take more chances, get more sacks, and force more turnovers. Jake looked like **** today but I agree with the masses that Jay needs at least a year or two before hes ready.

I think with a great pass rush we would be with out a doubt the best team in the AFC and if not that the most balanced. If our D was that much better we would have had more TOP and we would have given the O more time to get in-sync cause they looked like crap today. Were a posession team, and again a dominent D would propel us to greatness.

On regards to Cutler as the feauture...Hell I cant wait to see him that INT that went through Devoes hands, Cutler would have hit Devoe in stride and he wouldent have had to stop and readjust letting the DB close...TD! Cutler will be a huge improvment but what im getting at is we had a realy good chance to make the superbowl this season and might have put those plans on hold for the feauture, when the team is gonna face some big time holes int he next few years. We might deteriate like the Jets take shot for our QBOF and watch as our O-line withers our D gets old and our best offensive weapons start using walkers to run routs...Rod wont be around to much longer, another hole at WR unless someone realy steps up...Lynch will be gone and we wont have a reliable replacement for awhile...The Browncos arnt permenant and are starting to sour...If it werent for our awsome draft of DBs last season I would mention Champ not getting any younger but thats a moot point he will be great for a long time...

The O-line...

Nalen-maybe a year left, whos gonna anchor our line for Jay?
Hamilton-The heir apparent for Nails but whos gonna fill in at guard?
Lepsis-LT is one of the hardest positions to fill and we dont have many canadits
Foster-Young but lately is getting dominated and might be looking elswhere soon
Cooper-Hes looked decent but hes still just a fill IMHO and we need another dominent guard to fill in...
The youngsters-Linemen are a crap shoot and take years to develope and hit their prime late so we wont know for a few years wether or not our provided depth is up to par with the great line were fielding right now...

This might have been one of our last chances for awhile...will Jay have been the better envestment, only time will tell.

Our O-Line is pretty deep. We have some talent working their way up and one sitting on the practice squad. That is not too much concern for me right now. I would rather have the chance to win more than one superbowl with Cutler and the draft picks we will have again next draft. Mix that in with our drafts picks this year and Walker once he gets rid of the yips and we could have some dominance.

I saw us get a sack on Bulger with a four-man rush...problem was the offense. Defense showed up and played their hearts out.

These last two drafts have looked pretty good but come on with our draft history we might need some help. Not only that but all the young guys we have in the waiting are very raw and wont be to the level our current line is performing at for at least 4-5 years...We have high hopes at TE with Sheff, but at WR we have to be skeptical because you never know whats going to happen to our Training camp wonder players...CB is set but we are already weak at Saftey and need some big time help...LBs look great young and deep no problem there. RB one depends on our O-line and two is a crap shoot anyway when we still dont know whos gonna start next week. We have some question marks in the feauture that right now are filled with some great vetern tallent that wont be here much longer...the window is closing.

Dont get me wrong the D was freaking awsome today im just saying there was still room for improvment (glasses for refs to see holding would be nice too...) I just feel there were a few passing downs when our Four man rush got no pressure and Bulger had all day. It wasent often but it was still there and we can still improve.

**** yeah it was the right decision. Abraham is not shy about being a "me first" player and bailed on his team in the playoffs.

Nope. Today showed more than ever that we need a clutch QB who can step up in big games and opening season one's. Starting off behind the 8 ball sucks a$$.

As for Abraham... I think we were all transported to a "what if" moment with him when I heard he had two sacks, two FF's. Then sportscenter read off, "he left the game in the fourth with an undisclosed injury". No surprise. The guy can rush as well as anybody in the game. He is as fragile as Mr. Glass though. No thank you.

What team is going to trade us a big time end for Jake Plummer?

Washington doesn't even have a big time end.

Good point...But what if we took a shot at, say one decent known sack guy this offseason and taken the risk of not getting Cutler?

lol Hey but Griffin and Warren anchoring the D-line would be sick...it would give us room to start some young talent on the end and not have to worry. Hey we can dream right

Sean Taylor anybody? Come on SoCal get excited with me...The Redskins are suckers and need a QB..eh eh eh...
