Everybody is going to focus on Plummer and the horrible call on Predator, but IMO Foster sucked it up just as bad as they did. And he's been being doing it for a while. The guy is a fat piece of crap...plain and simple. I've been harping on him for a while, and today he was owned repeatedly by an average DE. When he becomes a FA we had better not resign this POS unless he makes some dramatic improvements.
I use to think Carlisle was our worst starting lineman, but after last year I was impressed with the way he played while I continued to be disappointed with the mound of lard at RT. He can't run block very well, and he sucks at pass blocking. Meadows can't be any worse. Last edited by Rascal; 09-10-2006 at 06:43 PM.. |

Foster is the reason Plummer had some of the issues he did...as well as Mike Bell. The pass protection was absimal

Little was killing us - singlehandedly - for approx the first 25 minutes of the game. Then things got better. I missed what happened. Did Foster get better, or did he get help? Either way, Little seemed mostly undercontrol in the 2nd half... or at least he wasnt on top of Jake everytime he dropped back/handed the ball off.

Foster does indeed suck. There is no getting around it. Leonard Little owned him today.

Why the f*** did the coaching staff get rid of Cornell Green
Reports from last season indicated they were very high on him and some would say he looked more solid at RT last year when he came in for a injured Foster. |

Realise he hasn't played a real NFL game yet but at least Cutler looks decent. Foster has looked **** from Day 1. We all hoped that he'd improve over the years but I've yet to witness it.

Is Meadows ready yet or is it going to take him awhile to get in the swing of things? Foster was pitiful today.

he didn't look ready in pre-season and I think it was touch and go between him and Green for that experienced back-up role. Foster wont be benched anyway not unless he's unnavailable through injury.

Watching Leonard Little reminded me of Terry Tate Office Linebacker. All over the place laying out hits. Going whooooooooo! I don't know why I thought of that but all game I kept thinking of those commercials.

TJ did want Matt, and Cutler has looked better in his action than Foster ever has.
All true. But When Matt was taken, TJ jumped on the Cutler bandwagon right before we signed him. And Cutler got significant more playing time in his first pre-season than Foster did and was not thrown to the wolves. Dont get me wrong, I think that trend is broken and I do believe Cutler will be a star, but still...scary ![]() |

Why wouldn't Foster get benched if he is not executing his assignments? He flat out sucked out there today.

Foster definitely had a bad game today, but is hardly the reason Jake choked. Jake held the ball way too long and looked afraid to throw it. Foster wasn't the only one giving up sacks out there today. Cooper gave up a huge one, and Mike Bell did as well. There was another that they rushed through the left side of the line that nobody picked up period. Don't even try to blame our problems out there on Foster. The offensive line looked weak out there today, and it's going to continue to. Other teams are going to do what they can to keep Plummer in the pocket, and it's going to be up to him to loosen that up by punishing them with quick decisions. They're going to overload the line with pressure just like they did today, keeping Jake in the pocket and forcing him to make the quick throw.

Plummer was getting murdered all afternoon, just like the Pitt game. I'm sitting here watching the Manning brothers with gobs of time in the pocket.
Kind of sucks. |

If he was afraid to throw it, that may be because guys weren't open. He threw his worst INT of the day to a covered Rod Smith. At some point he had to let the ball go. |

Actually he's right. Watch the plays again. Plummer looked lost and was holding the ball way way too long. Remember that a third of sacks are the QB's ability to get rid of the ball and "know where he wants to go." Manning's line isn't the best in the league but his ability to make quick reads and get rid of the ball fast keeps their sack numbers low.
