The reason I voted no, WAS NOT because I don't want people to know my opinion, but because many times polls are influenced negatively because people ARE afraid to express their own opinion.
I say leave it as an option. |

I dont vote in public polls for the most part. Voting in this country is a private matter and private polls give more accurate results.
Public polls become popular opinion polls and are ALWAYS skewed. It has nothing to do with being afraid, it has to do with accuracy. No scientific poll is public. No government poll is public. The results are ALWAYS private to retain accuracy. Not that it matters since most of the people that make polls on this board dont know the first thing about a non biased poll in the first place. edit: For instance, this poll is skewed. If you vote no, you are "afraid", even though that is not necessarily the case. This sort of poll is a yes or no poll, period. Reasons are plenty and if you wish to add reasoning behind the poll, then many more options besides two are needed. The yes option is just as stupid. A poll is placed in a thread. If people wish others to know how they voted, they may opt to post in the thread with their full opinion. In fact, most do so anyway. Last edited by Rock Chalk; 09-04-2006 at 10:25 AM.. Alec has once again proved that:
![]() I'm not going to write a dissertation here, because I could care less if we change the polls or not. But the bottom line is this, if you're worried about skewed polls or are afraid to voice your opinion on if it's Brian Griese's fault on an internet message board, you need a life. On the other hand, if you are really that worried about how somebody halfway across the country who you'll never meet voted on an issue of the fault of Brian Griese, the same holds true. In conclusion, who cares. And move this thread. OMG WTF IT'S FOOTBALL ONLY!!111 |

Should voting booths be in the open?
It's up to the poster to make it public or private. The fact is, if it's a contraversial poll, I certainly wouldn't make it public. It's just fine the way it's set up. |

It's the choice of the person posting the poll. If your scared, make it anonymous. I see no reason to make any poll public other than curiosity. Go make a public poll "Does Bush Suck" your going to get 80% yes. Then you can ridicule those who voted he doesn't. |

Skewered. (You mean SKEWED, you drunk. See below.) skew·er 1. A long metal or wooden pin used to secure or suspend food during cooking; a spit. 2. Any of various picks or rods having a function or shape similar to a skewer. skew·ered, skew·er·ing, skew·ers To hold together or pierce with or as if with a skewer. Once you decide to put down the booze and figure out what this thread is about, come back. This thread is about skewed polls, not cooking with a skewer. Seriously. It's not even noon. |

Your the retard. You don't make a poll public because it skewers the reults. Did I express any concern if you were "worried" moron? Last edited by watermock; 09-04-2006 at 10:56 AM.. |

90% of polls should be public. The "All Aboard the Dayne Train" poll comes to mind.
