Default Dom Davis Cut?

I knew this going into my draft, and I almost crapped my pants when Oskie mentioned the guy the guy I wanted (Lundy).

Here is the thread on the houston forum, and a link to an article discussing it.

http://www.houstontexans.com/fan_zon...ad.php?t=27201

http://www.fortwayne.com/mld/newssen...s/15383340.htm

"There's not much we can do about it, but I'm very concerned about that situation," Kubiak said. "I know it's been very frustrating for him. All we can do is be there for him. I'm more concerned about him right now and doing what's right for him."

Kubiak said he plans to meet with Davis, his doctors and agent before Houston's final preseason game Thursday. NFL rosters must be trimmed to 53 players by Saturday, but Kubiak has said he will make his final cuts Friday.

"That's going to be a big call this week," Kubiak said. "It will be a tough decision from a final 53 for us as a team. And we'll make that decision in the best interest of Domanick."

Davis has 3,195 yards and 23 touchdowns in three NFL seasons. If he can't play, Kubiak said rookie sixth-round draft Wali Lundy, who has been impressive in preseason, will be the starter.

Exactly! He won't last long on the market. I'm not that familiar with his running style but surely he could run for 1300 yds in our system.

He'd never last to us on waivers.

I'd like to think if Kubes decides to cut him, he'd call us up and hand him over for a 7th or 6th. At least that way he gets something, while helping his old club out in the process.

as a sleeper for ff, I wanted Lundy, but as this became more pronounced, I realized that I wanted no part of the Texans run game this year..

sorry for the miss-spells. I had my draft, and my share of beer tonight.

Or trade for Cobbs/Nash/Dayne or Adams/Devoe/Watts or Green/PJ/nate Jackson or any number of other bubble players

Presumably the same reason they passed on Reggie Bush: They're blooming crazy over there!

Now admittedly, I gave them the benefit of a doubt on passing on Reggie Bush, but only because they've got Dom Davis.

Bush won't live up to the hype....and D Davis for whatever reason isn't getting it done. I'd rather stick with MikE Bell and grow a winner. But we'll see.

Very odd what's happening there but you know if Davis gets cut, Houston will get hammered even more in the press for not taking Bush.

If Dom Davis gets cut, it would only be due to his bad knees. The fear is that he has a degenerative condition similar to what T. Davis suffered through. That's not good news.

If he is healthy, the Texans won't cut him. If they do cut him, it means that his knees are in pretty bad shape. Either way, don't count on seeing him with the Broncos anytime soon.

No question about it, they need to grab him if they can. Even if he has to spend a year on IR, get him anyway. He can keep Hixon company.

There is no room for an injured RB with a large salary. Denver is set at RB. Denver has the back that will be the starter for the Broncos for the next 5-8 years. We just don't know which back it is.

His knees are practically bone-on-bone and is looking like a Terrell Davis situation. Anyone that picks him up will have to do extensive homework on his health. Sucks for Dom. Not for me - Wali Lundy in round 14.

Because running backs come and go, elite pass rushers are a little trickier to find.

If Kubiak installs a system similar to Denver's, he doesn't need to pay a premium for a running back.
