I heard The Franchise, Floyd Little, will be on KKFN 950 The Fan this Thursday (aug 24) around 8 am . . . maybe he'll share stories from his new book.

Wow, I'm impressed they had him on. I listened during the 6:00 hour and all Sandy Clugg could talk about was Tiger Woods for the third day in a row...

I just got the book on my door step yesterday, am on page 60 something. Very fun read. Every Bronco Fan should get a copy! I forgot how much I missed "Folks".

Floyd was after 8 am - quite a long interview. I have heard the story before but I always enjoy hearing how Lou Saban "fired" him in a home game vs Buffalo. Little fumbled with time running out, Buffalo recovered and kicked what appeared to be the winning field goal. Saban was furious and told Little he was fired. Floyd ran back on the field, told Fran Lynch to go off, and told qb Marlin Briscoe to throw the ball as far as he could and Floyd would catch it. All the time Saban was yelling at Floyd to get off the field.
Briscoe did throw a bomb to Floyd, he caught it, setting up the Broncos for the winning field goal. As Floyd walked off the field he says then Denver kicker Bobby Howfield told him "don't worry, mate, I'll make it" (which Howfield did) Personal side to that story - I was at the game sitting in the South Stands (I was 12 years old at the time). Floyd Little's catch to this day was one of the best I have ever seen by a Bronco running back - he dived to catch the ball and was hammered after the catch. It was also COLD that day which made the catch even more impressive. Can't wait to read the book. Floyd had other interesting stories to tell about Saban and John Ralston on his interview today. |

He said Ralston was a good organizer but delegated all the X's and O's to his assistants. One game offensive coordinator Max Coley was sick and Ralston didn't know how to call the plays! Floyd said Ralston tried to get an ex-player who wasn't even on the coaching staff (I think it was Charlie Johnson in the stands that day) to call the plays.
He said Saban had no patience - that when Floyd was playing with the Broncos they went through 16 different starting quarterbacks. Floyd said he and Sabin were alot alike, though, in that they both hated to lose. Floyd said he wanted to be drafted by the Jets and was shocked when Denver took him. "Where's Denver??" But he said he grew to love the city and that getting drafted by Denver was the best thing that could have happened to him and his family. |

Yeah, what the **** is that all about. I'm not a huge fan of the morning guys (or the late morning guys, or the afternoon guys, or the evening guys...) but I guarantee if Moser was there they wouldn't be jacking off Tiger Woods the entire show for 3 straight days. |

At least he stopped pawing over Tiger (sorry) long enough to spend 40 or so minutes with Floyd. Sounds like he read the book and everything.

He's clueless, it almost seems to me like he's aggressively thumbing his nose at the ignorant listeners and saying F-you by talking non stop about something 99% of the audience doesn't care about... then to supplement the golf talk he mixes in Rockies talk, what planet is this guy on... it's August, it's Denver... anything other than Bronco talk and maybe a bit on CU and CSU is unacceptable.
