Default Sooo, I've already gotten Madden 2007

Don't ask, but it's already available on teh Ineterweb if you know where to look and have the right tools. Anyway, some early impressions from the Xbox version...

It's not THAT different from 2006. There are still players whose pictures aren't in the game. And why is Michael Myers still in a Browns uniform in his? Broncos' WR depth chart not that deep. No Mike Bell. I'm not even sure where to find him if he's a free agent. But it's possible to get a 2nd from the Ravens for Lelie. Scheffler is solid.

The lead blocking thing is just ok. Nothing drastic and actually not even necessary to be successful. They've incorporated some of the NCAA "hit stick" moves for the backs in 07. It can be a little more difficult to bring down some of the backs once they've picked up a head of steam, though.

WRs make some amazing catches. You've got to be a little better on the QB/WR timing this year, it seems.

There's a wacky addition called "NFL Network" where Sterling Sharpe tries to walk you through some NFL playbooks. Meh.

I've only played the first preseason game against the Lions (W21-17) and overall I'm not that impressed. The roster updates aren't even all there. I'm hoping EA has an update to these before the season starts. It's a fun game for what it is, but I would be hardpressed to drop another $50. You know, if I actually had to pay for it and stuff...

I've heard otherwise from others...

How are the "Madden profiles"?

How is the music? More classic stuff or is there some new stuff in there, you know, Boston and Slayer and stuff for those KC fans?

I'm not really liking the new music, but I'm sure it will grow and grate on me like in previous years. If you choose the Chiefs as your favorite team, Winger's Greatest Hits plays through the menus. But I hear there's a code to get Mr. Big to play instead. Try the Contra Code.

EA usually drops about 4 or 5 roster updates throughtout the season.

They'll have the official 53 man 32 team roster out probably Wednesday or Thursday after week 1. That is always a staple-so that's when you'll see Mike Bell, and everybody else not now included:

I didn't buy 06... did they have the mini-camps on all that as well. Talking about the 40 yard dash and Bench Press and all those mini-games.

Can't wait for the 360 version. If it's as good as NCAA I will be very, very happy. Amazing game, amazing animations, a smart computer that adjusts, everything. Just gotta finish up my 4th season by Tuesday.

I have a buddy that works at EB where I live, and got me my copy Friday night for the 360. There is no comparison to last year's version. I could play the mini-games all night long.

Some things I really enjoy....

- Every play against a friend and they hit the button on offense to look at their recievers really quick, which in turn zooms out the camera making you think they snapped the ball? The CPU does that on hard counts now.

- As a D-Lineman, you can predict the snap count by pressing Y to try to get a quick jump against the O-Lineman. If you do it too early though, you are obviously offsides.

- In the mini-games, bench press and 40 yard dash are nice additions. I love the lineman challenge as you block for your RB. Pressing back on the right joystick cut blocks, and frankly I can't quit doing it.

- No Mike Bell obviously, but all the lineups should be available for update as the season nears.

- The introductions are also new, announcing the player names of the teams stars as they run out onto the field.

That's all I can remember off the top of my head. I'll answer any questions, but for now I think I'm gonna go play.

Awesome man. I was hoping they would put the jump the snap count option in.

Looks like EA has put all their time into the next gen system versions, especially hearing that the first XBox version is very similar to last year's.

I've read that on the 360 there isnt any roster changes, so that means no roster updates...can anybody else confirm this?

And I bet you are downloading 2006. Not sure when the PC version comes out, but it is usually well after the console versions. I haven't looked though.
