When is cut down day? It will be interesting to see who goes first. We all know there are going to be a couple shockers on the first round of cuts. I see Ron Dayne and BVP as possible canidates.

Devoe and C. Adams are basically gone. Hixon will go to IR and come back healthy for next year's TC. Its gonna be hard to cut either Nash or Cobbs. Nash had amazing cutbacks in last night's game. When the o-line got stuffed on that one play, he just cutback, and plowed for a 2 yard gain. made something out of nothing. And BVP's pretty much gone. If he stays, all he is doing is hindering Cutler's development, and I dont like that.

Dayne could be trade-bait or perhaps IR-bound. I suspect Van Pelt gets cut in the last round so we can keep a 6th WR -- I doubt anyone other than Houston would pick him up; it's likely he'd be around as a call up should anything happen to Jake. But he has to stick around so he can play most of the last pre-season game
![]() About the only surprise cuts I can see would be someone like Englebarger or Stephen Alexander... the latter is really unlikely, but possible if the coaching staff think that Scheffler is far enough along in his blocking. |

I've a tough time seeing the Broncos keep more than five or six WR's. Keepers are Smith, Walker, Marshall, Watts, Kircus and
![]() Devoe makes a nice grab and then stubs his toe on two holding penalties. Terrell does do enough. Clark is better on ST. Adams was gone and will probably be gone again. Hixon is on IR. When's the first cut down day, and to how many players? |

Here's the cutdown dates:
Aug. 29 -- Roster cutdown to maximum of 75 players. Sept. 2 -- Roster cutdown to maximum of 53 players. I don't think BVP is going to make it unless the Broncos see him as Cutler's backup longterm once Jake leaves town (like Kubiak was to Elway). |

They are... Brown, Elvis and Ekuban can all play DT in a pinch, especially on 3rd down. .
The great thing about this squad is its versatility. We have a lot of flex players. |

I like Devoe. I thought the holding penalties were ticky tack. The kid is a fighter and he fits our mold. As evident by his PHilly play last year, he has some explosiveness.
I really like Abdullah actually. He is still learning the ropes but the guy has some range at safety that I haven't really seen from Fergy or Brandon. I don't think we have a true 4th DT who deserves staying. I just wonder why we haven't looked at picking up Grady Jackson yet. He must be an unruly prick or I thought we would have picked up already. |

Here's the roster.
Everyone can give their two cents and in not too long we should have a finished product. I think the first step would be to find a position where we have an excess amount of bodies (it's what i do in Madden). Anyway, we currently have 90 players on the roster, and i believe it has to be at 65. GO! Code:
No. Name Pos. 1 Jason Elam K 3 Paul Ernster P/K 4 Micah Knorr P 5 Preston Parsons QB 6 Jay Cutler QB 10 Todd Sauerbrun P 11 Bradlee Van Pelt QB 12 Domenik Hixon WR 13 David Terrell WR 14 Todd Devoe WR 15 Brandon Marshall WR 16 Jake Plummer QB 17 Darius Watts WR 19 Brian Clark WR 20 Mike Bell RB 21 Hamza Abdullah S 22 Domonique Foxworth CB 23 Willie Middlebrooks CB 24 Champ Bailey CB 25 Nick Ferguson S 26 Tatum Bell RB 27 Darrent Williams CB 28 Jeff Shoate CB 29 Damien Nash RB 31 Brandon Miree RB 32 Tyler Everett S 33 Ron Dayne RB 34 Cedric Cobbs RB 35 Antwaun Rogers* CB 37 Cecil Sapp RB 39 Kyle Johnson FB 40 Curome Cox S 41 Karl Paymah CB 42 Sam Brandon S 43 Rashon Powers-Neal FB 45 Roc Alexander CB 46 Chad Mustard TE 47 John Lynch S 49 Kevin Harrison LB 50 Ben Hamilton G/C 50 Cameron Vaughn LB 51 Keith Burns LB 52 Ian Gold LB 53 Louis Green LB 54 Patrick Chukwurah LB 55 D.J. I'n response to BPC's potential roster...
I think Burns and House will have a harder time making the roster this year than in the past. Burns is way down on the depth chart and he's far too old to be as effective on ST's. Sapp, Roc or Brandon have the experience and can pick up the slack and potential leadership. There is too much competition for spots and I don't see the team keeping three specialists (Burns, Leach, Ernster) just for ST's. As for House, I've heard nothing... |

that would be a departure for Webster then, because he played MLB exclusively while in Tampa and Cincy. I understand about Chukwurah though, but he also put on a bit of weight to become a fulltime DE. |

I figure its Carswell vs. Mustard and Jackson for a roster spot. Because Jackson gives us some flexibility in the passing game it will come down to Mustard (and oversized blocking TE with average hands at best against House who although not a great lineman can be an emergency Tackle, Guard and TE on the goal line. I'm telling you guys, Shanahan puts a lot of emphasis on being versatile. House is a vet with skills now to play OL and TE. He'll get to keep a job because of this. |

He'll be on the exempt, refused to report list until he decides he wants to do something.
