Default Showdown in SLC

Rocky should make this interesting at least and ir's right across the street from where I work.

President Bush, Cindy Sheehan To Square Off In SLC
(KUTV / AP) SALT LAKE CITY - President Bush and anti-war demonstrator Cindy Sheehan are both coming to Salt Lake City for the American Legion's national convention later this month. Of course, they will be speaking on opposing viewpoints.

Sheehan is planning to protest the president's visit -- with the help of Salt Lake City's democrat Mayor Rocky Anderson, who was not invited to deliver the opening address at the convention. In fact, Anderson, is not even on the list of distinguished guests invited to attend the convention, at which President George W. Bush is to speak.

Instead, Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon will open the national convention at the Salt Palace on August 29th.

Greg Rowley, state adjutant for the American Legion Department of Utah, left Anderson off the distinguished guests list.

He said Anderson's participation last August in an anti-war protest during a visit by Bush, who spoke at annual convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, influenced his decision to leave the mayor off the list.

Anderson also plans to attend a protest rally during the Legion convention.

While the president is in town, he plans to meet with LDS Church leaders and help raise money for Senator Orrin Hatch.

President Bush has yet to spend the night in the state since taking office, but President Clinton vacationed in Park City for several days in 1999 to celebrate his daughter Chelsea's 19th birthday.

I dont think that anyone is "squaring off" with our president when Sheehan shows up.

She's nothing but a shrill voice screaming nonsense. Who needs to square off with that?

Sheehan has got to be the most butt ugly women I've ever seen. Can you imagine waking up every morning to that mug! When I hear the term "coyote ugly" I think Sheehan. Not only that, but her voice, especially when she starts screaming, is akin to a tea pot kettle going off!

I fail to understand how one would think that the "scenery" could possibly be affected by the political leanings of a state. California for example, as well as Oregon have some of the most beautiful coastline scenery I've ever seen. I would vacation there often if given the opportunity. The fact that both of these states are far left is of no consequence. Allowing politics to possibly affect one's enjoyment of the beautiful scenery this country offers makes absolutely zero sense. Been through Utah many times, and scenery wise, it has alot to offer. Drop dead gorgeous in some areas of that state..dman

We've all had our moments. Fortunately, in most cases they are few and far between. All I'm saying is as a general rule, all that stuff has absolutely no bearing at all on enjoying ones self. If, you can put it aside a majority of the time, you'll enjoy life alot more. Poster of Clinton? Doesn't bother me in the least unless it's distastefully constructed...dman
