I really hope Shanahan doesn't do this. None of the remaining RBs on the rosters have the speed or homerun ability of Tatum. I'd only want this to go down if: 1. Denver gets a 2nd that can go to the Eagles 1st if Tatum hits certain stat levels, say 1300 yds and 10 TDs. Doubtful he'll hit it with Westbrook there, but because of the position it leaves Denver in w/ regards to RB depth, there should still be that chance Denver's rewarded for Tatum having a great year. 2. Denver has a deal worked out for someone like Thomas Jones and it costs them less to acquire him than what they receive from the Eagles for Tatum. |

Trade Lily, but not Tatum! A second would replace what we spent on him though.

Interesting idea, but I wouldn't bite unless we got some other proven commodity at RB. Tatum may not be a feature back, but he is the most tested back we have on the roster, and it would be tough to let him go without a little insurance.

Very interesting.
Thanks for posting that, Herc. I agree that losing Tatum would be a big blow, considering how precarious the RB position is currently. Even though he still has significant holes in his game, Tatum plays a substantial role here. The prospects of just Mike Bell and Ron Dayne at the position is very unpalatable. You're idea is a good one if its viable (re: Thomas Jones), but with him getting somewhat hurt recently, I don't think we are going to be willing to sweeten the pot enough to get him.

If we do trade Tatum we better get one hell of a D-lineman.. And just going off the top of my head I dont see who they would be able to give us (thats not starting for them) that would make it worth our time.

No, No and No. We can't go out there with MB, Cobbs and Dayne. Possibly if it was a megadeal where we got a first for both TB and Lelie plus a DT or Buchalter. Philly isn't known for bending over like Wash or Cleveland. I don't know if we could rape either again at this point. We could trade TB for Portis!

I can probably be categorized as a Mike Bell homer, but trading Tatum is not a good move.

We would be agreeing to give up Lelie for less than what we think is fair and in exchange, if they want to remedy their RB situation, they will have to pay a premium for Tatum over market value. Ofcourse the 2 and 4 would not really help us with the RB position this year, but I think Denver will be powered by the passing attack this year anyway with the additions of Walker, Marshall and Scheffler. Ideally, if the Eagles were agreeable to this arrangement, we could pawn off some of our spare parts at other positions to cobble together enough value to get some experienced adequate/serviceable back from a third club.

I don't think the Eagles will do anything at RB until they see how Buckhalter looks. I know their QB coach. If I see him around, I'll see what he says.

What I want to know is why they're after Tatum when they have Westbrook.
I'm lost. |

IMO as the old saying goes the eagles can want in one hand and schit in the other and see what hand fills up first.
Tatum is too important to this team for this season, next season may be a different story. |

This sounds a lot like that Dorm Room Jets guy. Rumah.
Also, TJ -- Davis is 32 years old. . . also has had some injury problems. That's probably why he isn't on a team. |

Some of you guys are confused.
Let me help you with some answers........lol * Stephen Davis is old - he needs to retire. We don't want him. * We don't need Wilkinson, we have a great DT, his name is Warren. * You can't package Lelie and T. Bell together as if you were going on a picnic. The dynamics of putting both together in same deal would almost be impossible. * Stay away from Thomas Jones. He gets hurt alot. I saw him for years with Cardinals and even though they don't have a great Oline, he didn't show me anything I would be drooling over. I would sooner start Cobbs. Nobody is going to give us a pass rusher worth anything for T. Bell in return. A good pass rusher is much harder to find then a good back. Besides, I think Shanny would be more likely to trade Dayne before Bell. Bell still has more upside then Dayne. It will work itself out over the next few game though. As for me, I think we'll see a combo unit again, probably the Bell & Bell show. Dayne will get some short yardage and goal line stuff, the scraps. |
