I could be wrong here, but Meck's issue is not so much financial as it is contributional (Is that a word?!?). He needs more people to help contribute to the tailgate. His preparations start at least a week before the actual game. He needs people that will contribute time, energy and food, beer, etc to the tailgates.

Fact is....Meck is not made of $$$, and he cannot foot the bill without some help. I for one am for setting up a paypal, like the fantasy football one for us that appreciate, and want the tailgates to continue. I will donate irregardless of whether or not i get to a TG this year. Anyone else
paypal is a great idea.

we always donate too even though we dont drink beer. sometimes we'll sample some of the food, which is always delicious. thing is, its not about the beer, food, soda (ill continue to bring orange crush!!), whatever.
its about pitching in so that we have a HOME outside the stadium.

i try and keep an eye on who throws money in (and make sure ANYONE that is with me contributes), and its DISMAL overall.
the overwhelming majority (many of which have NO affiliation and just mooch) just eat, drink, and be merry.....for nothing.

its great that meck has an open invite, but we need to make sure we find a way to HELP him manage things.
i know ive watched the bus on a few occasions (when meck was trying to keep people off it temporarily) with ben, and we didnt even know who many of the people wanting to get on were!!

some of you have said that meck took on the load, so he should "deal with it", but i think ALL OF US that call that tailgate home need to ALSO deal with it, and deal with it WITH meck.

There are no finacial problems. Just beer, brat, and trash issues. If the tailgates needed money you would have seen a pay pal link. We don't have one...Don't want one.

Again Taco made this out to be a cash issue. I think the tailgates can be run without cash changing hands if people do bring things. Send your cash to Taco Atlas. How many more donate to the mane threads do we really need to see so the guy can cover his server costs?

On our end I'd rather see someone wiping down a table than putting 5 bucks in a coffee can to be honest.

The people that have been to them know where we are coming from. With some organization I know we can get some local restaurants to donate food like we do with www.clubcrush.org It's a local fan club for the crush I belong to. Food flies in from everywhere because the group has a foundation and is organized. That's all we need. A little bit of structure.

Really haven't been able to do that because that is something that needed the support of the omane website. It would take putting a "Hooters" banner on the site in exhange for some wings for example. We already have a relationship with Hooters from the magazine spread we did with them last year. Just one of the many ideas that never got off the ground. It's not Taco's fault. I should have done stuff like this earlier. It will get done now. I'll be working to get some hooters girls to swing by the tailgate. Someone has to do the dirty work like that.

You want ME to bring beer to YOUR tailgate? Sheesh. It's like at the bar, just cause the other guys at the table want to buy rounds, it doesn't mean I gotta be a chump like them and buy one.

I just want to say that appreciate what both of you do for Broncos fans like myself. Without Mecks tailgates, I would have nowhere to hang out when I go to the games. Without TJ, I might actually get something done at work! Kidding! The OM helps get me through the day where otherwise I might have a blowout for lack of Broncos news! Kudos to both!

well i have no idea the setup at these things but i would suggest just telling people to clean up for themselves(its always more complicated than that tho of course lol) and maybe provide more trash bags, honestly, how do people just throw things on the ground and provide paper towels and maybe some brooms for just when the person is done. all that htey have to do is just go grab a broom and some towels and clean up where they were. its like camp or something, leave the BBQing and specific things to those who are regulars and just post a sign or something that says to clean up after yourself and that offered help is appreciated.

once again i dont know how it currently is, but how about a sort of role call of who will be tailgating a week before or so and inform them of the rules and if they offer to bring food, drink, supplies, etc., that way you can dole out the duties a couple days ahead of time. whoever offered the spreadsheet idea, something like that. it sounds like people are willing but just dont know exactly what to do

Not that I make that many tailgates living in St. Louis but it pains me to see OF1 being used as the johnny on the spot for people that aren't part of the Mane. Many times Meck or Disco have asked who are these people on the bus and no one really knows who they are. Could someone talk to the Broncos about possibly putting some dumpsters in the lot so It would make cleanup alot easier?

If someone invites you to their house for dinner, you bring a bottle of wine, and offer to help out with whatever they need, this is just common curtesy. Same rules should apply here, you show up to a tailgate party you bring some beer/food and ask people what you can do to help.

I made it to only one tailgate a few yrs back.

Had the time of my life and have Meck & crew to thank for that. I want to get back out to the Mile High City if for no other reason, to get the bad taste of the loss out of my mouth.

But, as I said, the time I had was priceless. Now I wanna get back out just to contribute in any way I can. What Meck & co. have going there is amazing, and I'm sure it's only grown since that time.

I owe a lot for that experience/hospitality. I can undertsand exactly where even a little bit would help the tailgate out.

Lemme know if there's anything I can do in the meantime from Amishville. I'd be more than happy.

The week before the game we get in touch with the regulars and let them know how they can contribute, if we need a bit-o-help!
Good luck to you, and as always, I'll see ya in the Lot!
just my .02, but this could be a great idea.

if time and tangible things are better than cash, this is a good way to do it.
get ahold of regulars before, have a kind of sign up sheet, and see who can sign up that week for set up, clean up, food, beer, soda, cooking, etc.

that way you KNOW beforehand who will be bringing what, and who will be there before, during, and after to help.

Amen...No need for drama. Taco said what he had to say. We've covered our basis and cleared up our side of things.

Taco will hold down the Mane...We'll keep doing what we've been doing for years with whoever wants to pitch in/meet up at a game at home or on the road! Both entities will be better in the long run.

We'll have a bit more flexibility to do some things to improve our end. That's it!

We'll be up and running ASAP!

If you want to continue living like a Tailgate Rockstar....that advertises, there will continue to be the work and un-fun stuff to go with it. This appears to be a pretty self inflicted situation.

Its also possible for others to have their own tailgates. They shouldn't have to rely on you to provide everything, and you shouldn't feel obligated to do so. It sounds fine and dandy for people to say they'll pitch in...but doing it on game day is a different animal.

Good luck.

This problem is what my idea was addressing... an "OF1 guest pass/identification graphic" might look something like this... it could be emailed or sent via PM to posters from any messageboard who have indicated to Meck that they plan to attend a given tailgate party. The "tailgate guest" could then print out the pass and either fold it and put it into a lanyard or simply tape or safety-pin it anywhere on their clothing.

Oh... and yes, I would volunteer to collect avy graphics/put together and send them out if you did decide to do something like this, Meck.

I know i will really appreciate it aswell.
If it weren't for the OF1 tailgate, i would be flying across the pond all by myself and with no where to hang out. I was willing to do that to finally get to see the Broncos but i know i will be made welcome.

You guys dont know how much i will appreciate it and for all the hospitality i will make sure i do my fair share of helping out.

I had a great time with Meck and OF1 in New Orleans along with Hogan, Sassy and other wonderful Bronco fans. In KC last year met Disco and Dr Disco and had a great time. I hope everything works out, I like Blueflames ideal on the paper or Mecks Omane hats.

I was hoping to get to Denver this summer to the fan fair but money was a problem but Meck thanks for the offer of lertting him ride in the bus . I am coming to Denver along with my son and girlfriend(her first time to Denver)

The Last time I saw Meck was at the KC game and before the game started they were cleaning up , I tried to say goodbye to Meck and Dicso and the 2 people stopped me ansd said I couldnt go in because they were cleaning. I wasnt upset but it seemed as if they had it all taken care of so I didnt think anything about it. So if there was something I could have done I wished I would of.

I will be leaving Missouri Saturday morning and staying in Limon . Bright and early I will be leaviung in the morning for the parking lot. If there is something that I can do Meck just ask.

Seems , to me at least, that some ego's have gotten hurt. Both TJ and Meck started their respective ventures not for profit, but for the love of their team and the building of fans and a cliq still group.

TJ, with help from many on here, has built a Broncos site that many use as their first source of Broncos Info.

Meck started his tailgating from the back of a pickup truck.

No one made either of these two continue with the ventures. No one made TJ move to bigger and bigger servers and upgrade software. No one made TJ advertise on many forum's and other sites to draw people to the O-Mane.

No one made Meck go out and purchase a bus, spend money on remolding it and then turning it into a mobile Broncos tailgating machine! Meck also has advertised the tailgating experience on here and on DenverBroncos.com

You both have the choice of taking you're preverbal ball and going home.

Like many on here I don't see the issue you two are having over this. Is it Meck wanting to label members? Or have a higher member classification for just tailgaters? Allowing only the select few to get into the party with a password? Or is is a money issue and looking for donations?

Seems to me that tailgating involves giving away grub and beer to fellow fans! I've walked around many NFL and College game days and been offered free drink and food just for the colors I wore! Sometimes I've declined and sometimes I have accepted the offer.

If you want to make it a club fine then just say it. But why have TJ do the dirty work for you?

You asked people to attended your tailgate. Now you are having a change of heart when the numbers are two big and the help is not their, or offered in return.

Same with TJ he asked for members, got sites to link his site, he posted on other Broncos boards and a few rival teams boards. The place grew! It grew large and continues to grow.

From where I sit you both put yourselves into you own positions. If it's not about money, then it must be about ego's.

I still don't see why the dirty laundry had to be shown to everyone? But if Meck wants to run his show he should. But don't expect help (money or volunteers) from TJ, or anyone else for that matter, unless you ask for it.

Same goes for TJ, if you need cash, ask the members, we understand. If you need more Mod's, writers, server connections. yadayda...... just ask.

You both are in control of your "venture of love", do what you need to do.
