Default AROUND the LEAGUE - What Have You Seen?

Here's a few things I noticed:

DREW BREES is 100% fine ... in fact, his arm looked stronger than I remember last year ...

THE TEXANS blew it passing on Bush, because he's a mega-star. I wondered if his cross-field college speed would translate to the pros .... well it does - did you see him cross all the way over and gain 25-30 yards? His speed translates - that was the Titans first-string dee ....

PAC-MAN JONES is a miscreant, and he'll draw plenty of penalty flages this year and beyond. Even money he'll be a RAider before he's through ...

PHILLIP RIVERS will be fine for SD - poise and presence. He throws a little like VY, but had Cutler-like poise. He's gonna be a pain for the next decade ....

TONY ROMO was a real stud vs. Seahwaks - he played every snap for the Cowboys, and he's got a real live gun...

TRENT GREEN was awful, and the Chefs seemed disorganized as they over-celebrated every tackle and first down. Don't let the final score fool you - it was a blowout before they caught a late break and Q went in ...

I THOUGHT THIS GUY RETIRED! You'll be surprised: Click here!

Bush should have had a TD last night if Devry Henderson held his block.

I'm watching the Saints/Titans game and as Bush reversed field I thought the same thing. I thought he had good vision on some inside runs too.

I remember Shanny hyping up Romo when he was coming out of college. Shanny knows his QB's.

...and I wouldn't be so quick to say that Houston blew it by taking Mario. In a few years Houston will have Mario Williams, Travis Johnson, Robaire Smith, Anthony Weaver, and Antwan Peek (a Robert Mathis type DE)...dominant D-lines can win you some games. Just ask the Patriots/Steelers/Ravens/Buccaneers/etc.

Bush has a very good chance to be a mega-star though...Houston won't sell as many jerseys. That's for sure.

Anybody else? Scouting reports?

How about that "Click here!" guy above? Am I the only guy who thought he retired?

At one point, we all thought Patrick Hape had some pics of Shanny and that's why he always seemed to make the team. Obviously, Kubiak wants to win and is importing players who understand the system and who will make the transition smoother.

I know I might get some hate for this...Cutler's throwing motion reminds me of Kerry Collins. There I said it.

It is hilarous to watch the Texans offense. It is literally like watching the Broncos in different unis. I wish Kubes nothing but the best. It will certainly be interesting to watch that 3rd pre-season game.

Patrick Creighton WR DAL sprained his right ankle. Hopefully it will help with a Lilly for Ellis trade.

I assume its because of the open left hand. Thats the only similarities I see. Of course that could be because of the difference of the results of their passes.

That trade still makes zero sense for the Cowboys. Lelie would have to compete for the 3rd WR spot for the 'boys and the Cowboys would trade away a guy who is currently the starting outside linebacker.

Further, Parcells has said his players can't be scared of competition. Lelie obviously is.

Look above. I'm telling you, they throw exactly the same. I didn't even notice that they both open their left hand either.

Let's just hope Jay doesn't have a thing against blacks and loves the bottle as well.

Any injury to a WR increases Lilly's value. Kenard Lang was moved to OLB too.

Ha.... I'm sure Rivers will be over the moon to have had his poise likened to a first gamer!

Good luck to him though...

Seriously. My point was just because you move a DE to olb and starts, doesn't mean its a good fit.

I noticed that Vince Young's receivers dropped a lot of balls.

Pac-man Jones is getting better.

Drew Brees looks like his arm is fine.

Jason Campbell is looking decent.

The Titans are going to much better this year.

We got pass rush with just our front four. (If you don't think so, watch the game again.)

The Chiefs suck. Brodie Frayle is already hurt and hasn't even played a down yet.

The Manning commercial with him bursting out of a football is homo.

Obviously. But Willie McGuinest didn't have a problem with the transition. And, Greg Ellis, by most accounts, has looked very good in the transition, and in some packages, still plays end.

Ellis is going to be a significant contributor to that defense this year. Why would they trade him for a guy that fears competition, and would at best, but the third WR?

Excellent observation, sir.

And I think Greg Ellis is whining about the move... that could be a kind of fear of competing.
