Yeah, that's bull****. How is a concealed weapon going to invite trouble?

I'm a firm believer in the saying "guns don't kill people, people kill people". Sure they make it a little easier on the attacker, but if they have the desire to truely do harm to another person, they'll do it. Whether it's with a gun, knife... whatever.

I have to agree with Boob on this one. I don't carry much but I have an HK 9mm when the need is felt which isn't too much.

That's ancient knowledge... Live by the sword, die by the sword.

I don't begrude anyone to carry a weapon. I'm just not that paranoid, so I can't relate.

I'm trying to learn how to kill with my mind. A lot of people are going to be ****ed when I perfect the technique.

I never carry any weapons. When I was younger, in my teens, I carried a Balisong with me. But I never got pro training with it, and the way I see it.. unless you are really good with a weapon, don't carry it..your attacker might just use it against you. I never get into trouble anyway. There might be some situations where tensions flare up, with some drunk idiots at some festivals for example, but I never needed more than my fists.

Scenario: John is at the bar getting trashed after a great day at work, bragging to Dan about his new piece he's carrying for protection against "nutjobs." Dan's got a new piece too. They begin talking about them, comparing, and getting into an enthusiastic discussion. John spills his drink on Dan, Dan gets pissed off. The argument escalates. Eventually Dan pulls out his brand new nine and lets one slip into John. John dies and Dan goes to jail for carrying a concealed weapon and for aggravated murder.

Oops - better to have it and not need it, right..?

Touche, but in the opinion of many, only a moron carries a piece on their person, against the law, on the off chance that someone violently attacks them on the street.

Many here seem to be quite proud of their shiny little guns, don't you think it's decent conversation? We're having one right now on the internet, you don't think it'd happen in a more social setting?

A concealed weapon is an inanimate object that has no psychic powers of invitation. Lack of critical thinking invites trouble.

I go to the gym twice a week and keep in shape. That's it, plus I stay aware. Being a woman I'm going to do the same thing as Mtnbronco, I'm going to nail that sucker with my foot and then I'm going to use every cheap shot a woman is allowed to use, nails, vital points, rib and eye shots and if those don't work, it must be my time. I will never get in a car with some guy holding a gun on me, I will let him kill me first.

How to kick a man in the jimmy:

Rule #1: a proper snap kick or you are toast. Do not leave your leg hanging. A leg hanging in the air can lead to a break, a sweep, a reverse or just a shreadded knee. Practice primary, secondary, and tertiary targets.

Rule #2: If your leg gets grabbed you better have a plan B. Any move is just like a gun. If you don't practice you are making up stuff.

Rule #3: Most men expect this especially bad guys. It comes down to smarts and timing.

People that irresponsible would never be given their concealed weapons permit. If you are interested, look up the number of firearm related crimes commited by concealed weapon permit holders in Florida. Last I checked, it was less than 1%.
