your prolly correct.

This is how my son was born they will hook her up to some machine that watches for contractions (I think) Then if I remember correct hook her up to and IV that gives some kind of stuff that will induce contractions. Also I remember alot of walking so wear comfy shoes and get some rest the hours before going in.

Good luck and best wishes

I think that's pretty much what happens! My wife and I went though the same thing. Oh, and don't plan on any sleep for the next couple days!

Good luck, TJ.

Your life is so about to change!

I'll tell you what - when my son was born, I thought it was going to be so much different than it was. I wish people would have told me not to be uptight about it - that it would all work out in the end. I mean, the kid didn't like me for the first year. He'd scream almost every time I held him. I got really depressed over it. Then, at about a year, he started thinking I was cool. And eventually, I was his best buddy. But that first year was tough, because I had no long-range perspective on things.

I'm excited for you. I am sure I am not alone on here when I say that there is nothing even close in my life to being a dad. To say everything else falls short of it is completely understating it. It's just the greatest thing in the world.

But man! - I wish someone would have put my mind at ease that first year.

You and Mrs. Taco John will be in my family's thoughts and prayers tonight.

During a planned induction, the usual practice is to admit the night before. That night, a "cervical ripening agent" such as cervidil is placed. This works to a variable degree overnight... softening and dialating the cervix. The following morning the actual induction is started with Pitocin -- wich is an IV form of oxytocin, the horomone that causes uterine contractions. This puts the woman into labor -- which is defined as regular uterine contractions with cervical change.

I hope my daughter doesn't change. She is the most content infant I have ever seen. My mother says I don't deserve it, because I was quite the opposite. She wakes up to nurse, stays awake to burp, then goes back to sleep. Her favorite place to sleep is right on my chest.. I've been having a blast. I had to go back to work tonight.. and its killing me.

I don't think yet. Isn't it 11:45 PDT tonight they are going to the hospital?

TJ has probably got knots in his stomach right now that feel like gigantic boulders. Mrs. TJ is probably just breathing a huge sigh of relief......and hoping to get an epidural as soon as possible after the pains begin.

TMI! All I know is that my woman turned into a crazy person and growled like something out of Exorcist as I held her hand.
