The psychic lady at Costco said that my wife's water will break tonight at about 3am and that we'll have our boy within the next two days. We were astounded. This lady was behind the soda sample counter and just started laying it all on us. She got the details right about him being a big boy.

I don't know if the psychic soda lady is right, but I hope so!

3:00am Friday morning 8/25/2006 you will be awaken by a gentle tap and in a groggy state you will blurt out, "This ones for John!" That is my guess. Also let me say congratulations! I got married June 3rd and the wife and I want to wait until next summer but man every time I am around kids that urge kicks in!

Ok...poor TJ too. Better?

Since your loooooong awaited kiddo is taking his time, I'll pass on a word of forewarning. Since he's overdue, he probably won't have much vernix on him and within a week, his skin will probably start to peel a bit. Nothing serious at all, just something I freaked about when my son was born.

I freely admit I don't know anything about childbirth, but wouldn't it have happened by now if TJ's wife's water broke 4 or 5 days ago? Ladies, help me out...

Usually it does, Crush. With mine, that particular event always meant the baby arrived within a matter of hours. I don't think that's happened yet with TJ's son, though.

No water has broken yet... Though my wife asked me to hand her a bottled water that she put in the fridge, and I threw it against the ground in psuedo-voodoo effigy to her water breaking. It bounced off the ground. I picked it up and handed it to her.

Attempt: unsuccessful.

Hey Teej, you should set up a fog machine in the delivery room and play some form of pump em up music. Maybe even get some lazer lights moving around. Make it look like a players entrance at the U. The boy might come out then, I heard that's what Ray Lewis's father did...worked for them.

Edit: Of course he could form some sort of issue with walking down a tunnel, also like Lewis.

Same with mine too. They say if you don't go into labor within 24 hours of your water breaking, its very dangerous. As soon as your water breaks, everything in there is open to bacteria.

You could have her try the most God awful thing in the world to get labor going. Good ol castor oil. It's so revolting, she'll throw the baby up and not have to worry about the rest of it.

Actually, it's a bad thing to do. I tried it myself and earned a labor that was absolute hell because the castor oil gives you such bad diarrhea that your body is too tired to have contractions.

I'm sure you know about the nipple stimulation and of course about sex. Obviously you know about that last part, it's why you're in this situation. The nipple thing can work though!
