Hmmm...

I guess it's better than having Cornell Green and nobody as the back up tackles. Good depth move.

Meadows is pimp man...I can't believe he's throwing away stardom to become a backup lineman.

That came out of nowhere, but you can always use more experienced depth

Broncos | Team signs Meadows
Sat, 29 Jul 2006 17:44:10 -0700
ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the Denver Broncos have signed free agent OL Adam Meadows (Panthers) to a three-year contract. Complete financial details of the contract were not yet available. But the contract, which was negotiated by agent Don Henderson over the last 24 hours, has a $400,000 signing bonus and a base salary for 2006 of $850,000. It also includes several escalators, most of them based on playing time, that could increase the total value by increasing the base salaries for 2007 and 2008.

If this is only to keep away from the chiefs it is a good move.

I like the signing...he hasn't taken the beating that Turley has over the years.

WTF? That's more than half our draft choices got!

He hasn't played since 04. I don't know what his injury was. What was his injury?

That should put a little fear in some late round draft choices like Myers, Kuper and Eslinger.

This is a guy that got a 2.5 mil SB and 15 mill contract before hurting his shoulder, fresh legs and a vet, good signing.

Broncos must feel he has a decent chance of making the roster otherwise they've just pissed away $400,000 in cap space.

he has had some injuries throughout career. But as a move for depth I'd say its worth it.

I think House is the obvious casualty here. It saddens me because he is one of the last of the B2B Broncos. Did they kick him to the curb after his non fault accident? I'm not saying he's an automatic cut, but if he is released, it won't be because the Broncos left him out to dry. He's been able to continue his rehab when other teams might of turned their back. At the very least, he's been able to get rehab and get his strength back. I don't want this read wrong. He almost died but time goes on for all of us I guess. I think it's admirable that Denver has kept getting his strength up. That's upright. Your have to roll the team and it might be his turn, but he wasn't abandoned, that's the point. He might still make the team, I'm not counting him out, but if he is, he's certainly not going to be destitute if he had any sense at all. He's a hell of a blocker as a TE, but eventualy your change the guard. He might push out a rookie but I doubt it.

I can't even imagine Rod Smith and House saying goodbye. I'm just happy House was able to get primo care after his accident that wasn't his fault. Same with Big Ben BTW. Enough violins for the guy, he's got plenty of money and will get a retirement settlement. My point is the Broncos didn't dump him.

The funny thing about this is that we need depth and the Chiefs probably could have used him as a starter.
