Of course, we'll miss in the Little League finals, comparing 12-year olds to Jeter and explaining how 79 mph is really 99mph with the closer mound. Sad.

But on basis of the work part of it. If it was found to be true you would obviously be fired. But if they either found it to be true but couldn't get enough evidence to fire they will try to place either 1 of you in a different position away from eachother & give you a last chance warning which in the next case it comes up true or not you would probably be fired as it wouldn't be the first time the accusation happened.
"If it was found true" is very subjective. How do you know if it is true? You were not there.

So what you are basically saying is that Harold Reyonolds could have been fired on false charges. That just goes back to my original point: FREE HAROLD REYNOLDS.

It may be very subjective but if they bring in police investigators since you did exspose your self, she would have to tell you what she saw, and if it matches well there you go, not very subjective anymore is it?

Unless this woman is an artist or my penis has purple dots on it, I highly doubt she will be able to recreate my package to a police sketch artist to point that it will be a definite match. But this all besides the point.

FREE HAROLD REYNOLDS!!

There are two types of sexual harrassment. Quid pro quo, or hostile environment.

Clearly, a hug doesn't fall under the quid pro quo unless Reynolds was the supervisor and she had to hug him to keep her job or get a raise. So it was most likely hostile environment.

In order to be fired for creating a hostile environment, you must have been told that the action was inappropriate and continued it anyway. In other words, a pattern of such behavior must be established and documented.

Most likely then, he had done inappropriate things before, had been notified or sanctioned, but contined the behavior anyway.

I would "hug" Jennie Finch if I ran into her in the ESPN offices.

You do not get fired for your first accusation of misconduct. It had to happen more than a few times with more than a few warnings, he didn't heed the warnings so now he is gone.

Especially an on-air personality, they know he would fight it tooth and nail if it were true that it was a 1 time misunderstanding. ESPN is a big company that will take all the right steps in firing one of the more popular workers they have, so I HIGHLY doubt that it was a 1 time misunderstanding.

I've seen it happen...one accusation...and the person was gone. No one has a right to a job yet a company can ruin your life by firing you on an accusation that may or may not have merit.

I could agree I am sure it has happened a few times just on 1 accusation, but ESPN would not fire one of thier more popular and well liked on air personalities, who has money to afford a good lawyer to fight the dismissal on a 1 time accusation, if they didn't either have overwhelming proof, previous warnings, or both.

This is lame if it's true. He was just accused. Not convicted in a court of law...but accused. Just ridiculous. This country is so effed up. And all over a hug......that's a crock of crap.
This is why many people dont want to hire women in a male dominated business. If you say,"you look nice in that dress" is grounds for dismissal. I am not saying Harold didnt do something but many guiys get this crap from the little ladies at the office.

Who can we get to say John Kruk fondled them? Anyone? Please? He's a moron. HR could at least pass himself off as a baseball analyst.

The sad...really really sad part is the ones that claim sexual harassment...and they hit every branch on the way down the ugly tree.

I think if a woman accused me of sexual harassment in the work place...I'd claim that I was gay.

ESPN is not a one mistake and you're gone company, either. Little Mike Tirico was nearly canned for the same thing.

Our employer decided to give mandatory "sexual harassment training" a few years ago. At the time, our department had this blonde MILF as a secretary/office assistant. We all headed upstairs to the conference room where she was one of the last to enter. She picked out one of the single guys seated in the back row, jumped into his lap, jumped off just as quickly and yelled "GET YOUR HAND OFF OF MY ASS!"

It was a great icebreaker but it illustrated the real point more than any of the rest of the "training". Sexual harrassment is a joke for women. It's a method for them to attain leverage, nothing else.

Bill Clinton signs into law a bill making "sexual harassment" illegal and one of the definitions is when a boss solicits sexual favors from an underling (note: whether the woman agrees to it is immaterial - if he's the boss and she works for him, it's sexual harassment). He then has sex with an underling yet all the feminists defended him and NOT ONE went on television to explain how it was "sexual harassment".

Of course there are some cads out there who make inappropriate comments to women but you don't really need a law to fight that - just a good old slap in the face has worked for decades.

Possible Harold Reynolds pick-up lines:

* Wanna see a major league bat?

* My left hand is used to fitting into tight places.

* While others try to get to first base, I could be sliding into home.

* Let me show you how those weighted donuts work.

* I'm very comfortable around leather.

You just have to be very careful in many ways these days. I used to joke around all of the time. There would be sex related joking back and forth by all parties. I used to have a black guy who worked for me that was funny as they come and most of his jokes would be considered racist, including hits from all angles. Now almost everything is off base. Now I try to make sure the butt of all of my jokes is myself. ( I know - That's an easy target )

Next they'll try to impeach Bush for giving the German Chancellor a shoulder massage! :-) A perfectly harmless, if pretty clueless move.

That's great...They fire their best baseball guy for being "accused" while Irvin's been able to get off like what...2? 3 times? Irvin is terrible for football and Reynolds actually knows what he's talking about w/baseball.

Actually, Bush probably thought he was having sex with her with that move so there is some precedent.
