I think the fact that you haven't been as vocal on other threads, that would fall under your category of pointless, leads others to believe that you are actually just using it as an excuse to bash. I mean it's the offseason, threads are stretching for relevance everywhere, why choose this one to rant in?

Personally, i wasnt ranting. I was merely pointing it out and then got flamed. Its just when the flaming starts then im going to start getting heated about it. Its a two way street on here man. I know there are guys who waste no time on attacking plummer but there are also guys who waste no time bashing myself or other posters who are just trying to point out certain quailities about our Qb.

I think "many people" is pushing it. Most people here either think he's pretty good to totally suck. O 4 Life is in his own category.

Not to add to the dogpile here...but there is a pretty big difference between "many" people and "a few" people...which is it?

Because you are. But it really wasn't because of anything Plummer did in the SD game last year that brought us back, it was D and special teams.

True enough, but that's the culture. Point out what you want, but someone is going to point back, be they right or wrong.

At least this thread managed to squeeze a little football talk out in these dark weeks though

Dead issue now dude just drop it. There are plenty of people on both sides of the fence when it comes to Jake.

Griese let himself get sacked too often, couldn't throw the ball with any velocity and had all the ecitement of late-night C-SPAN with the leadership qualities of Bill Lumbergh.
Lumberg had excellent leadership qualities...how else do you think Intertech got to where it was before it burned down? He also boned Jennifer Aniston.

If he was a good come from behind qb in arizona, he definatley can be one here. I think he did it a few times here too.

This is the classic Orange Mane offseason pissing match. We should have a separate board called "Pissing Matches" that this can be moved to...lol

Here are the 4th-quarter comeback totals of some other quarterbacks in the last 3 years:

Trent Green - 7

Peyton Manning - 5

Donovan McNabb - 7

Matt Hasselbeck - 4

Green and Manning have played with suspect defenses, but the Mcnabb stat is pretty impressive.

It's more impressive when you lead your team to fewer points?

I didnt really understand his post either. A comeback is a comeback regardless of how your defense is playing. The other team still needs to stop you.

It's not that, but a solid all around team will have fewer opportunities for comebacks, and the eagles have dominted 2 of the last 3 years. That says to me, that the eagles Success was more Donovan than I gave it credit for. If a team is strong offensivly but weak defensivly you will play in many see saw battle which would lead to more wins coming in the fourth quarter or final drive.

I cannot find anything of Elway coming back from 3 TD's. However, the Broncos have come back from 24 points twice in their history.

October 23, 1960
Boston Patriots 10 7 7 0 - 24
Denver Broncos 0 0 14 17 - 31

Frank Tripuka threw 4 TDs in the second half and Mingo capped it off with a
9-yd FG.

September 23, 1979
Seattle Seahawks 10 10 14 0 - 34
Denver Broncos 0 10 21 6 - 37

Craig Morton threw 3 TDs and Rob Lytle had a 1-yd TD run.

Plummer hasn't had to come back much here. That's what happens when you have a good supporting cast.
