In the spirit of Disco Man and Jody's recent engagement...How did you propose to your SO or how were you proposed to?
My husband proposed to me on the bridge at Multnomah Falls in Oregon after visiting my parent 4th of July weekend, while on leave. It was a speical concept if he hadn't had said as we were walking up the falls "I'm going to propose to you on the bridge right there". ![]() ![]() |

...it was cool. February 22nd, 2002...I like this kind of stuff. It was the weekend after Valentines Day and I took her to a very romantic/very expensive French restaurant where we had a private room apart from the rest of the restaurant and then to a club...on the way into the club I detoured her at the last second and I had a white horse drawn carriage with white horses (think Cindarella motif) waiting there for us in back of the building. She was totally freakin' out... ...We took an hour long ride through the Turtle Creek/Highland Park area (a Cherry Hills type place with the multimillion dollar mansions and huge trees, etc...) and I had arranged with the driver ahead of time to fake some kind of problem with the coach. So she pulled over and told us we had to get out while she fixed it for safety's sake. So I kind of nonchalantly suggested we take a walk while we waited and I walked her up over this waterfall accross a bridge over Turtle creek in the Lakeside Park area next to these big stone teddy bears and got on my knees to ask her. This was pretty cool because there was a big lovers moon rising too..but since we'd only been together for a month, she was pretty shocked by the whole thing...it was very Bogie and Bacall and she started crying...the rest you'll have to guess... If you live in Dallas you know where this place with the teddy bears at Turtle Creek is: Here's the exact spot! ![]() |

Hmmm, so long ago, let me try to remember
Being young with not much money, couldn’t afford anything fancy I lived in a 2 story apt and we had a balcony………I told my wife to wait here, I got something to show her…….so I went downstairs and then from the balcony, I looked up and got on a knee and asked her Nothing great…….but there you go |

Loves it! Maybe we should add a do and don't section. Like mine would fall under the don't....don't tell the person before hand.

Took her to my fav steak house. The stockyard's in Oxford Miss. Since gone out of biz after the owner/cook died of a massive coronary, no doubt from eating too many of his huge grain fed rare boneless ribeyes with baked potatoe and iceberg with blue cheese ... oh, did I mention you could bring your own beer and wine .... anyway, broght a tear to my eye and I couldn't enjoy the steak with my customary pleasure. (She got my mothers wedding ring, too)

I asked while we were sitting on ther couch. May not seem like much, but it was apporopriate for us considering we don't get overly excited about too much. I had the ring in my pocket for two days waiting for a good time to ask and finally just got impatient.
My buddy, who got married in March, asked his girl in a dive bar after they were both pretty intoxicated. |

The only proposal I have had turned into us calling the wedding off two weeks before and ending the relationship a year later.
Ended up being one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have since met the best woman and love of my life. Big bronco fan to boot. I know I am going to marry this one, but I have yet to think about the proposal/ring/etc. |

Ya theres no doubt in my mind I'll die married to her. Actually she prolly deserves a medal or something for putting up with me. One thing I tell her alot is "Its a good thing you love me or Im pretty sure you would flat out hate me" She agrees ![]() |
