Is FONECO taken
Default Van Halen Reuinion?

Van Halen's reunion is "inevitable", former frontman David Lee Roth has claimed.

The singer who hasn't seen ex-bandmate Eddie Van Halen for years says they have been talking again and their management are involved in putting the group back together.

He said: "I see it absolutely as an inevitability. It would be very simple to put together. I definitely see it happening." advertisement

Roth was recently sacked from his job working as a DJ for CBS Radio following disappointing ratings. He is now concentrating on reuniting the original line-up of the legendary 80s US rock band.

The singer was the frontman for Van Halen from 1974 to 1985. He left in 1985 following a war of words with guitarist Eddie Van Halen.

Subsequent attempts to reunite the group have not been successful.

Roth is planning to tour this summer performing Van Halen hits.

He said: "I'm so proud of that music. The demand is amazing."

This would be cool for anyone over 40 who never got to see the original lineup! I'd be there no doubt. Roth is old and bald, but still does the flying splits with relative ease.

They are too old now not that that has stopped anyone before. Roth was the man back in the original VH days, when he left the band VH died.

yeah
I doubt it will happen
Eddie and Alex can't stand David Lee Roth.....they are all arrogant pricks though
so who knows

I suppose money could be the key issue.....and whether or not David Lee Roth can keep his ego in check for about 6 months while they tour

I'd go see them though

Van Halen ruled back in the day, and I got more than a buzz or two (thousand) on listening to them. Van Hagar sucks.

Dave killed his chance years ago. When they released the first " Best of " and did that song Me Wise Magic i thought they were going to hit it off again. But after the embarrassment at the video awards the rest of VH decided that was enough and not to travel that road again.

Based on the thread title...I was hoping it was the Gary Cherone incarnation of Van Halen

Because, you know, it went so well last time they reunited. At this point, after Eddie's cancer and his growing primadonna attitude, and Dave's arrogance, I've stopped caring.
They've got about as remote a chance of reuniting as Roger and the Floyd. Tis a shame...

Whenever I hear stuff like this, I just pop in their debut Van Halen and feel happy. Plus, I can crank "Eruption" loud enough so I can't hear Dave screaming on my TV.

As much as I loved the real (original) Van Halen, I couldn't care less about them reuniting. It's a disaster waiting to happen, and there really isn't much point to it. BTW, is Michael Anthony one of the biggest gravy-trainers of all time, or what?

Thank you to Bill for the unintentional reminder that, while a studio polished Van Halen is pretty good, sitting through one of their concerts would be quite excruciating...

You're nuts. Van Halen was a fantastic live band. You want it to sound like the record? Go to a Rush concert with the other nerds.

It's not that I need every band's concert sound to imitate the record, but David Lee Roth's voice in particular gets on my nerves when unchecked. However, I'm glad they can count on people like you to support them...

I saw Van Halen in Providence, RI on 3/17/84 and it was awesome.

They shot part of the Panama video that night.

I wish I could go back in time and see THAT one again.

Actually, if I remember correctly, Roger and the other Floyds did bury the hatchet and reunite for some concert or another not too long ago.

Eddie looks like a walking corpse these days, and, by all accounts, plays like one too.

I can't imagine what DLR is thinking.

Maybe I'm too young, but I never cared for Van Halen with Roth as the frontman.

I LOVED Humans Being, the song they (with Sammy Hagar) recorded for the movie Twister.

MTV never played this one. A rare video from Women and Children First.

Van Halen w/ Dave was great. I'd go see.

IMO, Van Halen I was one of the best albums of all time, and they never came close to matching it.
