Hey - didn't see a thread on this? Anyone else run the Bolder Boulder? I made my 3rd straight run this year and 4th ever.

Time was up from last year - from 53:31 to 56:01 and the more difficult thing to stomache was that my 15 year old son went from 1:01 to 53:12 (I can't even hang my hat my time from last year).

Anyway - it's a fun event. Our whole group committed after the race to personal bests next year. Good thing it's a year away.

Congrats Archie! The hardest, most grueling part of that entire run is being forced to make that uphill homestretch up near campus at the end. But seeing Folsom Field packed with people cheering you on was always fun for me as a kid when I used to run the course.

Out of curiosity, how many people ran that bugger this year? Last I heard, it was attracting over 30k.

I couldn't even ride a bike on the course, let alone run/walk it!

Now if it was an over the shoulder boulder holder event, I'd be there cheering on some contestants!

Lots - this year they had over 43K... It was pretty good. That damn hill cost me a good 10 seconds. I died about half way up and walked for a good 15 seconds before continuing on... it's a killer.

Course changed two years ago and I really don't know the old course. The new course has a long slow up hill stretch but you finish w/ about 1.5 miles or so of down hill before that last up hill stretch. So - for a while at least you feel like a million bucks.

I'm training for the Rock n Roll Marathon, which is next weekend actually. This weekends training involved non=stop alcohol consumption, followed with Vegas strip walking, and numerous events of debauchery enough to fill my confession time for the next year. Oh wait, I'm a non believer. I might need some divine intervention to qualify for the Boston with a 3:10 though. Not happening, 3:40 here I come!!!

I'm running with this buddy whose goal is a 3:10, he's dedicating it to his fallen Bro-in Law, the Police Officer in the Springs from last month. Gotta motivate.

Anyone do Hash runs?

I haven't ridden a bike since like 1988, seriously.

I ride for a minimum of 5 miles every day and do 10-15 two to three times a week. That said, I'd be gassed running ONE mile, let alone a marathon. I firmly believe that the only time I should run is if an animal or a police officer is chasing me.

THe BB starts outside my apartment. Don't go drinking the night before. Bang! Yay! Every two minutes from 7 AM. Then the walk to work at 8am when I had to cross the runners twice! But it was quite the spectacle and I plan on running it next year. And it made the walk to work entertaining...
