Default Dirk Is Clutch!!!

wow, not really.

Way to score a total of 4 points in the fourth there superstar!

Chance to close out a series at home, and my number one guy (obviously, not MY number one guy, Dirkenstein is an overrated p.o.s. ) is just putting up HUGE NUMBERS when it counts. YOU GO DIRK. way to just look absolutetly stunning for the last quarter of play. You're defense was CRAZY man! Those assists were off the hook! Way to really step it up when you're 2nd best shooter is suspended!

And that last three? The one that took ten seconds of valuable clock time to pull off? As close to the sidelines as you can get over an outstretched finley who's playing for pride? The one that didn't even touch the rim? CLUTCH BABY!!! MOST UNDERRATED PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE! THE NBA HATES YOU AND YOU DON'T GET ENOUGH COVERAGE BECAUSE THE CHOKE ARTIST LAKERS ARE THE MEDIA DARLINGS!

Well guess what. You're now just as cool as the lakers. Let's squander a 2 game lead. Let's go back to San Anton. For a game 7. In front of the home crowd. On national T.V. Against the team that owns you.

Dirk, if there is one word I could use to describe your abilities...to close out a season...to break a curse...to prove the national media hype wrong....to lift your team when they need you the most.....it would definitely have to be CLUTCH!!!!!!

If you watched any of the game, you'd know that Devin Harris was the weak link. He had a chance to make things happen but was just abysmal. Dirk played his ass off. His supporting cast just wasn't what it should have been.

And no one called Terry a superstar. Fact of the matter is - if Terry had been in the game, the Spurs defense wouldn't have been allowed to sag the interior every time Harris cut. It would have been a different game.

So out of the 3 Spurs wins what happened while Terry was in the other 2? Spin away my friend, spin away.

this right here is what cracks me up. the chant of DIRK FOR MVP all season is somehow lost on me when you can't see the fact that your beloved Dirk did jack **** when they needed him to step it up. Devin Harris isn't the reason they're in the finals, remember?

im not watching basketball often, so excuse me, but is every game in the nba like the spurs/mavs ones these days? they remind me more of a free throw contest rather than a basketball game ... way, way too many fouls.

I think the bigger criticism of Dirk's "clutchness" was the OT game. I just thought it was strange that Dirk barely touched the ball in the last 2 minutes of regulation and all 5 minutes of overtime. Honestly though, I think that criticism is more a fault of Avery Johnson than Dirk though.

See, thats the point: Dirk IS NOT a superstar. He doesn't have the take-over-the-game ability. He is a second option kind of guy. How can you mention this guy as an MVP candidate and he cannot create his own shot without six screens setup for him? He is like a taller Wally Sczerbiak.

Dirk is a solid ball player, but if I were a Mavs fan I would have grown weary by now by his inability to take over games in the playoffs. Just do it once, Dirk. Just once, man. Take your guy to hole. Create your own shot. You've been in the league for seven years and you are still a one-trick pony who gets exposed every single freaking year in the playoffs. Step up, man.

You, once again, have your head so far up your own ass. I'm not even going to take the time to prove how wrong you are on many different points. You only dislike Dirk because he's white.

No, you are talking out your ass. My favorite basketball player of all time is Larry Bird. Bird was Lebron before Lebron exsisted. He could do everything -- pass, rebound, take his man of the dribble and drain a three. He was unselfish and played team ball. What's that? He's white? OMG! How can this be? Because, I, for one, do not look at the color of a player's skin when determining how good of a ball player he is or whether or not he is "light" enough for me to say he is my favorite player.

But I am confused here. How can Larry Bird be my favorite basketball player of all-time when I hate white people? This is very troubling. Oh thats right, I'm not racist.

No, you ignored the fact that he is white solely because he was playing for your beloved Celtics. If he was playing for any other team, you'd call him a racist.

Dirk was doing everything yesterday (26 pts, 18 rebs !!!) To me, every other maverick (Jerry Stackhouse esp) was the goat of the game. missing easy layups, turnover. Dirk singlehandedly put the mavs in yesterday game.

And to all who is saying Dirk sucked in game 6, SUCK MAH BALLS!!!
