fans,
I saw the recent Iran thread and have this comment. The statements and opinions indicate that the folks doing the posting have not done their homework. A US attack on Iran could well trigger WW III and even if it doesn't it will bring us to the brink --- and why go there? Last year I investigated this matter and I'd like to share what I learned. Warning: the following article is not for the faint of heart. Sincerely, Mark Gaffney, author of Dimona: the Third Temple?, a pioneering 1989 book about Israel's nuclear weapons program. http://informationclearinghouse.info/article7147.htm |

It's always nice to read an informed analysis of the Iranian situation instead of the usual mindless jingoism of the right-wing talk radio variety. |

OK, MHGAFFNEY, just read your little diatribe and found it profoundly anti-Israel and anti-American. Turn over the Iraq thing to the UN? Are you ******* kiddin? The UN cant even manage itself let alone a whole country that Saddam ruined. Does "Oil for food" scandal sound familiar? And a make Israel sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty? Why don't you just suggest all the Jews just wade into the Mediteranean and surrender their country to their enemies. Nukes are the only thing keeping that country safe.
When the time comes to deal with Iran believe you me, Israel and the US are more than capable of handling the matter and turning Iran into a smoldering glass parking lot. And you LABF, anything that shows a perceived American weakness and you almost wet yourself. I know you hate Bush but I didn't think it extended to your country as well. |

I putting this article with the "Mother of all Battles" statement. The US has not been surpassed in military might, because of the advantage it has in three key areas 1. C4SIR, 2. Logistic Management 3. Joint operation experience/information sharing. This isn't about number of bodies a military has, but the effective economic of scale in using force in networked environment. In addition we are just starting to see the 1990 generation major weapons platform be delivery into inventory, while most countries outside the West are still using 1970/60 tech. That includes for most part Iran.
For Iran, it always better to seek another non-military approach to the conflict, and in this case we(the West) need to find away to support the moderates that are there into power. |

War is never pretty and letting iran go uncontested isn't pretty either, your opinion is noted and don't forget it's just an opinion.

But ridiculous distortions and slander are about the only types of ammo a bush lemming has left in his arsenal at this stage of the game, I suppose. |
