Default Todd "Schwarzenegger" Devoe!

"...Broncos receiver Todd Devoe reported to the passing camp noticeably thicker through the chest and shoulders. Devoe said he has gained 15 pounds to 227 since the Broncos' season ended in late January. "To start the offseason I probably ate a little too much," Devoe said. "But when I got back (strength and conditioning coach Rich) Tuten helped me turn that into muscle." ...

Looks like we got another possession WR candidate! Lets hope he can still run.

DEVO is one of my foster children. It just seemed that altho he was rarely on the field, he always had one big play per game. He's listed a 198. Ahhh...it's just baby fat turned to stone...hopefully...He might have a hard time making it this year especially if Lelie shows up.

Thats a 29 pound gains from his listed specs of 6'-2" 198lbs when he joined the team last years. I hope he wasn't munching on any 'Roid' burgers in the offseason.

Tht number could be older than a year. Anyway, I think it is a case of 198 being pretty light for a 6' 2" frame. Once he started trying to put on the muscle it probably built rather fast.

That is a lot of muscle mass to put on in off season. Hopefully the new strength get him more playing time.

198 lbs is an old number; probably what was listed on his college media guide. If Lelie weighs 200 like he's listed, Devoe had to be in the 210 range last year. He'll probably drop a few pounds during preseason and play at 220 or so. 10 pounds of muscle isn't a lot of weight to add in 5 months.

I hope that Devoe sticks in camp. He's the only young recevier in the last 4-5 who has stepped up and made plays, and I think he's got a lot of potential. Kubiak said that Devoe was as fast as Lelie, and he's defintely stronger. He runs well after the catch and has nice size. I think he'll be a big part of this team in the future.

Devoe made one play last year. He caught that TD pass against the Eagles that is basically all he did. Adams had a much better year than Devoe

Adams caught more than twice as many passes as Devoe.

He might be trying to take House's spot on the line....

Anyways, that give the Broncos 3 wideouts that weigh over 225 pounds. Who needs TO!

As per our backup receivers... although I believe Watts and Terrell to be better receivers than Devoe and Adams, I wouldn't mind keeping the the newly jacked Devoe and Adams because they are better special teamers.

I'm guessing Shanny has one more drop's worth of patience with the Claw. It's a guarantee that Walker and at least one draft pick to make the roster. Hixon is supposed to be labled the new return specialist, so if Marshall has a good camp, he could go to PS. Maybe Devo is aiming for Nate Jackson's spot as "emergency" TE.

Didn't Den get a long snapper too?

he made a couple of tackles and caused a couple of fumbles on special teams...

IMO, since Devoe played so well on special teams he's got the inside track for the #3 WR spot.

As a WR, true. But that is not all he did. Devoe had twice the value of Adams on ST's, as a #4 WR should. He caused/recovered four Fumbles on ST's last year. Adams could not get anything going as a return specialist.

He also was in his first year while Adams has had three now.

I dunno, I'm kinda sick of the Broncos WR to h-back/TE conversions. It has only worked like 1 (Sharpe) and a half (Putz) times, yet every year there's a new one coming through the turn styles.

A lot of people on here compare Sheffler to Putzier. The reason I think Sheffler is going to turn out to be better than Putzier is because he actually played TE in college. Imagine that, the guy played TE in college. How novel.

On that note, PLEASE leave Marshall at WR if he can do it. A big, physical WR with hops is a lot more valuable than a 40-catch TE that can't block on the inside.
